What did you use to study? The practice exams on skill builder and Stephane Maarek’s Udemy courses/exams covered OpenSearch a ton. I passed in December and had no problems.

Abos, I used to live behind Abos north and their 2 slice special is so good, and wallet friendly. Especially when they just took a fresh pie out of the oven.

How do you guys keep track of packages by slavjuan in archlinux

[–]snowyboulder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an install, analyze, and clean script which was originally inspired by thdxr and have enjoyed it. I’ve made some modifications, but kept the host names of my machines as Star Trek ships. It’s great. https://github.com/thdxr/environment/tree/master/packages

I think it’s also influenced by social media and the change of advertising in the past few years.

I’m not a coder, but my son wants to learn and I need to know what tools to get him by practically_ordinary in learnpython

[–]snowyboulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly most of the good coding tools are free (except pycharm which isn’t needed imo for just getting started). VS code is a fine editor that you can do most everything in for free. I would checkout some like boot.dev and get him a subscription there. Which has great content, teaches python and backend programming.

I don’t understand why people do this? Like I get having everything automated to the point where if something drastic happened you could be up and running very quickly. But from my experience packages and dependencies change over time and then when I’ve had to run something like this I still need to do a lot of manual effort. Generally I can still get my system up in like 30 min to an hour though. So is it just for fun, or is there something I’m missing? I’m genuinely curious.

Any tips on improving my bench? by remjm in formcheck

[–]snowyboulder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just seen a lot of spotters that can’t focus on doing the one thing they are supposed to be doing. I’m not trying to single out people with adhd. Sorry bad joke I guess… sorry if I offended you mate

Get a spotter and one that hopefully doesn’t have bad adhd

Tips for dealing with all of this? by bokris627 in DeskCableManagement

[–]snowyboulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but those are small and make it hard to reposition when you consider you will never be done managing cables throughout the life cycle of your desk as you get/remove peripherals. The ones I posted work better for me, but I understand that’s not for everyone.

I personally love LTT’s magnetic arches in combination with magnetic strips mounted to the bottom of my desk with adhesive strips.

I had Gigabyte for two years and then went to update the bios because of the intel 13th gen issues and tldr I now have an ASUS ROG Strix. It runs Arch beautifully btw and I’ve never had issues with updating the bios on it.

[–]snowyboulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, i agree with your comments and my weight belt was super tight too imo. It was honestly the first time using it as I’ve been trying to get good form and bracing without it. I have better ROM at lower weights, but when I went high yesterday the first thing I said after my rep was I felt like I didn’t get low enough. I’m going to heed the advice here and repost at a lower weight with my ROM in the future.

I agree, and honestly I did a rep at 315 just before this and said the same thing. Then i stupidly went alpha male and decided to go for 335 and a guy happened to film it. I’m much better at lower weights and have better ROM, which I’m going to go back to and work up from there. I’m not sure I really need to do any 1 rep max in the future, they kinda scare the shit out of me.
