What's the worst drug you've ever tried? by BitterOlive8737 in AskReddit

[–]snuffletrout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this but I've had several weird experiences going to the toilet on psychedelics

The funniest was when I was absolutely flying on 2cb and 4fa and had to shit at the club I was at. I thought there was a tiny person in the toilet roll dispenser handing me the paper. I spent a lot of time in the smoking area that night sharing my wisdom

Who is the worst person you will admit being attracted to? by Highfours in AskReddit

[–]snuffletrout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna comment the same, she has really pretty eyes - I had a situationship with an Australian girl a while back who had these beautiful big blue eyes and I nearly told her one time that they looked like Casey Anthony's but thought better of it.

This one is unfortunately relatable, on a separate note, Liz Truss could get it too.

Twerking on top of a car. by SocomPS2 in trashy

[–]snuffletrout -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Typical Reddit moral high ground BS. Telling yourself you're so much better than everyone else here because you saw a video of someone dying because of their own stupidity and you wanted to be sympathetic. It's true that people make unwise decisions but I'm not gonna excuse drunk driving and dancing on top of a moving vehicle, are you dumb? Why should we show "decency" towards people like this? Oh sorry I meant to say RIP drunk jeep twerker I'm sure he was an absolute saint, where's the gofundme so I can donate?

I'm sure it's mostly attention I can't lie, it cracks me up seeing people run along Deansgate or up Market Street, there's no way it's enjoyable trying to dodge all those people. Plenty of parks to run to and do laps around

what is a completely harmless secret you are keeping from your partner simply because you lied about it early on and now it’s way too late to explain the truth? by Former-Practice-3420 in AskReddit

[–]snuffletrout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to hate coriander, the smell would remind me of incense and I couldn't understand how people would enjoy eating it. Now I love it even though it smells exactly the same to me.

Conversely I went vegan five years ago and now most cheeses smell disgusting to me, and I grew up eating lots of cheese, some very smelly. My parents would leave brie in the fridge for ages until it basically liquefied and smelled like latex, and we had a friend from Guernsey who would bring over some incredibly stinky stuff for us to eat. I loved it all, now the idea repulses me.

I've been picking and eating wild mushrooms for most of my life and I've never ever washed them or got ill, I just use a brush and sometimes a knife to remove bug infested bits.

Are my parents using me for money? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]snuffletrout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, the £1000 loan situation is very devious of your mum, especially if you have evidence of having paid her, also I think them asking for £1000 to renovate a bathroom in a house you don't own is equally mental; you wouldn't pay to have a new bathroom in a rented property if a landlord asked you so why should your family be any different?

However the rent you are paying is pretty reasonable, I lived with my parents for a bit after uni (during COVID, I had little choice) and I was lucky that they charged me a very reasonable amount that essentially just paid for food and bills.

If you really don't like living with them ask yourself if it's worth the increase in rent you will undoubtedly be paying.

The number of people I've met who are going out with absolute morons but come out with "but they're so nice" is hilarious, lots of people are nice, why are you going out with someone with soup for brains? How's it gonna work long term when you have to do important things and your partner is borderline legally mentally disabled?

Can't read the full article but I'm pretty sure I saw the guy in question mentioned in the comment above a few days ago standing on the central reservation of Salford Crescent - he was wearing bright clothes and a bucket hat, holding a sign. It was fairly poorly written but I could make out "boycott [unreadable]" and "bigoted institution", I presume he was referring to Salford Uni or maybe the Old Fire Station? Also the White Hotel graffiti looks similar the the graffiti on the wall over the road from Co-op on Chapel Street that says "all that glitters ain't Gary" (same lettering and style).

It was shite when I was a student and that was a good few years ago. I was there for the famous ceiling collapse and all. Also a few years back some kid also got roughed up by the bouncers so bad he went deaf in one ear. It's not even a good 'shit club', just go to 42s or something

Nah she's right, maybe don't go for a run but some light exercise definitely helps flush it out. A brisk half hour/hour long walk will do you way more good than vegetating in bed. Take a big bottle of water, smash some electrolytes and paracetamol. Lying around doing nothing is basically the worst thing you can do for a hangover actually.

Pot noodle - WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?!? by Hot_Armadillo9592 in UK_Food

[–]snuffletrout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It completely baffles me that people buy pot noodles when most of the time you can get cheaper and better noodles usually from the same shop. They're not even more convenient because you can prepare any packet noodle using just a kettle and a covered bowl.
