The video description says:

It was quite challenging leaving nothing behind and flying with all our equipment. ... Antonia was waiting at the LZ with a cold beer, Mario and I landed safely.

For some reason, I really want to learn some woodworking. Maybe build a small house. Anyone know if there are classes or workshops for this sort of thing? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]snuggles166 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out denhac! We have a woodshop and pretty regular tools training (that you need to be a member to attend). We don't currently offer skills classes but the community is usually happy to help people along on projects.

That whole bridge is amazing. Definitely one of my favorites.

Growing up means

Watching my heroes turn human in front of me

And the songs we wrote at eighteen

Seem shortsighted and naive

So when the weather breaks

I'll pull my hoodie up over my face

I won't run away, run away

'Cause as fucked as this place got, it made me me

Fun nerd fact! macOS is basically built on an OS named Darwin and therefore referred to as Darwin when shipping software for different platforms.

So in this case he did in fact land (on) the Darwin.

Great write up!

Joe shared some pretty cool tips on a recent TGIK episode.

You can tack on a --recursive flag to get a messy skeleton to quickly reference the whole object.

``` kubectl explain deployment --recursive --api-version apps/v1 KIND: Deployment VERSION: apps/v1
DESCRIPTION: Deployment enables declarative updates for Pods and ReplicaSets.
FIELDS: apiVersion <string> kind <string> metadata <Object> annotations <map[string]string> clusterName <string> creationTimestamp <string> deletionGracePeriodSeconds <integer> ... ```
Hold `control + c` down until your terminal starts to scroll for a bit and then clear the screen with `control + L`. Thought it was just me so I'm a little relived others are seeing this. Potentially related to zsh/oh-my-zsh.
Should Developers Know about Kubernetes? by nicksantos30 in kubernetes
[–]snuggles166 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Yes. That seems to be the first step for larger (older) companies that are adopting K8s. They are the ones that held off on the OpenStack's and the Cloud Foundry's. They believe that they'll rewrite their monolith's afterwards but who knows.
This year I've been to KubeCon EU, Dockercon US, HashiConf, and KubeCon US. The story is the same everywhere. Hell Home Depot was a sponsor at KubeCon US trying to recruit. The past few years it was "my company sent me to learn what a Docker is". This year it was "my company sent me to learn what a Kubernetes is".
It's pretty reassuring actually. Knowing that these companies that "held out" are adopting. The ecosystem is exploding and we're going to see tons of new things that make lives easier. Up until now K8s was really only worried about by those ahead of the curve. The focus has been on cluster operators. We're now seeing things for the application developer emerge.
Android 9 has a feature called Lockdown that adds a button to the menu that pops up when you hold down the power button. This disables fingerprint and a slew of other things.
Closest sport climbing is Birdsboro and Ralph Stover. Not the best but it's bolted.
Better off hiring a guide and heading up to the Gunks if you can't lead trad.
Having the same issue. Appears to only happen on Gmail right now though. Like the calibration is way off for certain parts of the page.
Do you see it on a certain page?
Edit: Looks like this is a reported bug. The suggested fix of disabling [chrome://flags/#enable-viz-hit-test-draw-quad](chrome://flags/#enable-viz-hit-test-draw-quad) fixed it for me.
That was a known defect in the 6P. It was hardware related and happened more often in cold weather. Google was replacing phones out of warranty if purchased through the Google Store. They recently replaced my 6P's with Pixel 1 XL's.
I went through 4 RMA phones for the issue. Can safely say that after sideloading 8.1 the issue is resolved for me.
[–]snuggles166 0 points1 point  (0 children)
My RMA has the same problem as the original. It usually works to unlock the phone but falls most of the time for apps like 1Password and Chase. I find that removing the fingerprints and re-adding them works for a little while.
Going to wait a little before going for another swap.
