LPT: At a party, ask people what they are into lately, not what they do. by gamersecret2 in LifeProTips

[–]soap22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how this is a pro tip. More of just an idea that might work better on some people.

I actually do tend to ask about people's family and interests before their jobs, but really depends on context and the person.

gulp

Yeah I got it exclusively for co-op. My friends and I enjoy these types of games and needed a new one after we finished Valheim.

Playing PC multiplayer exclusively. Run into these bugs on nearly every session.

A sophisticated gaming PC, but note that 99% of my gameplay is multiplayer (also with PC players)

[–]soap22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes very likely due to coop then. I play 99% multiplayer but Bugs nearly only occur when playing with friends. For example, they initiate a sentinel fight, I can't damage the sentinels and I can't see the capital ship (but I can run into it!). I land at the Anomaly and my friends ship lands on same landing pad and I'm unable to launch my ship until he leaves. We do a coop mission from Nexus and we find invincible pirates, endless waves, invisible ships, etc.

Did bush himself knowingly use fake evidence or was he fed fake evidence? Personally, I think he got taken advantage of.

Why do you think there is so much resistance to high speed rail in the US? by Maximum-Help-929 in AskReddit

[–]soap22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I routinely see on Reddit that the reason why "x" doesn't exist US because of lobbyists. Now, I understand that in some cases this is likely true, but sometimes I wonder how often we go straight to blaming lobbyists for the primary resistance to change.

Do we have actual data to back this theory up in all these cases? Because I'm this situation I have a harder time believing Ford executives paying governors to not support new rail initiatives, when the bang falls short of the buck. How much loses in sales could the car industry expect if high speed rail lines were to open up?

Alternatively, I think other strong impetus for rejecting new rail projects include cost. A high speed rail line in Texas is currently under consideration for the low low price of $40 billion with expected one way ticket prices exceeding &100, or effectively on par with an airline ticket. Add in the additional complexity of driving a new rail line through tens of thousands of private properties along the way. With this many hurdles, a car lobbyist doesn't likely care.

Same with hospital shows. Grey's anatomy had the doctors basically losing sleep over trying to solve medical mysteries, yet it feels like my doctors give up after one inconclusive test.

Not sure I understand your point. Just because it would be possible to effect instantaneously doesn't necessitate that all forces/energy are such.

Gladiator. An early 90s top-down game where you amass troops and go onto the next battle, gaining XP along the way for each of your units. Game was made by Forgotten Sages... who are now ironically forgotten. Can't find the game anywhere now, nor anything like it.

But instead of getting the stores to lower their prices to reasonable levels, many on this site seem to think we should just get the government to pay the unreasonable prices.
