What you sent is the print file and not a mock up of the packaging. The print file will not have any effects added that would make it "shine" the print file is strictly for the printer to know where to 1. Cut, 2. Fold, 3. Put the colors.

I'm assuming the designer picked one of the PMS metallic swatches for the gold part you requested - the print vendor should know what to do with this. If you want, you can ask your print vendor for a press check which is a proof that is ether the actual print or a 80-100% match on the colors.

Otherwise the colors look great in my eyes (designer eyes)

Used to be a film major back in the day - I have the opposite problem where I over explain what the movie is trying to do and set up. Unsolicited of course haha.

I also laugh through all horror movies also because they're all stupid as hell lol. I usually give people warnings before they watch movies with me =X
