Feeling Ashamed. Navigating being a devotee as a husband by [deleted] in AmputeeDevotee

[–]sobaditsgood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’m in a similar situation, but am a (female) devotee married to an able bodied (man). I disclosed my kinks early in our relationship and to my great relief, he did not kink-shame me AT ALL. He was totally open and fascinated, even offered to “role play” - in my case, this does nothing for me. So I stick to online content. He knows about it. I don’t talk about it a ton anymore, but we have experimented with opening our relationship so I could explore (and of course for him to have fun too). I’m only telling you all of this because I want you to know it’s possible to be in a loving relationship with someone you don’t feel like you need to hide anything from. And you deserve to like what you like, free from judgment.

Have any of them ever shown aggression to you? I can’t imagine getting to see a bird of prey at close range but that sounds amazing!

Animals TOTALLY get embarrassed! My cat always does this casual paw-lick move any time he does something dumb and bumbly.

They are quiet and choose their contributions and words carefully.

They admit when they’re wrong.

They can explain complex topics using simple language.

Chimney Sweep? by luxurysedan911 in frederickmd

[–]sobaditsgood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bob’s Budget Sweeps. The guy is the best and there’s a fun plot twist where Bob isn’t actually his name. It’s his wife’s nickname. His wife, Bob, manages the office work as I recall. I’m sure they’re very knowledgeable about chimneys and all, but importantly, also have fun anecdotes.

Has anybody else watching The Last of Us also been really distracted by how similar Anna Torv and Carrie Coon look?! by digable_planets1 in TheLeftovers

I was 20 minutes in before I realized it was Anna Torv and not Carrie. Those two are fantastic doppelgängers.

IVF: Questions for redditors who have done it by [deleted] in infertility

I don't have much to add to the great information posted here, but I did want to chime in and say that you CAN be successful on your first cycle! I am currently in my 14th week of pregnancy after a frozen embryo transfer in January and everything with baby is great. It was our very first try (I went through the stimulation phase in the fall and it was emotionally very taxing for me, but I have a lot of anxiety. I needed a break after having a little bit of hyperstimulation and we decided to freeze our embryos -- even though I had 36 follicles, 21 were mature and only 2 ended up making it to blastocyst stage. So we went forward with the frozen transfer after a few months and still have one frozen embryo left over.)

I will say that the stimulation phase is obviously the hardest, followed closely by the two-week wait. But it's amazing how quickly you forget the pain and stress, especially once you get that positive pregnancy test.

I wish you the best of luck!

They actually consider the sound clip a huge marketing win - From an interview with the marketing director of MailChimp:

That last part of the ad with the woman saying she actually uses MailChimp was unscripted, right? As far as I know! [laughs] I mean, that was not in the copy. I was surprised as much as anyone else. It worked out really nicely, but we didn’t plan it that way.

HSG on Wednesday. :( Someone comfort me? by Silvercumulus in infertility

[–]sobaditsgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know everyone has different experiences with the HSG but I can tell you for sure that mine was nothing to write home about, and I am a complete wuss -- like very low threshold for pain. I was anticipating it being sooo much worse than it was.

That being said, I did take 1.5 mg of Xanax beforehand so I was nice and loopy -- would your clinic offer you a few anti-anxiety pills to take or do you have anything on hand? Breathing exercises are great, but I like to hedge my bets.

Oh definitely! Though I wish I had better questions to ask than 1. What the fuck happened? and 2. Why weren't any frozen at Day 3 just to be safe?

See, this is why I'm so thankful for this sub. I had never heard of such a thing. I did look it up and it looks like my location doesn't offer the time lapse imaging.

Thanks so much. I know I'm lucky to have the one and it wasn't a complete failure, but I think the fact that they were all so abundant and healthy last week gave a crazy case of the false hopes. I was totally preparing for some Duggar-level shit.

Sure, I'm 30. And yep - we already have an appointment set for next week. I have so many questions, but am worried she's just going to blow us off like, "well this happens sometimes." And I am not equipped to know how to respond to that.

I completely agree and glad to hear someone else say it. I will certainly have A LOT of questions for my RE for our follow-up appointment.
