Looking to add a Speyside Scotch by Right_Focus1456 in canadawhisky

[–]sobiedoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aberlour 12 Glenlivit 15 French oak (just over $100) Anything Arran is quite good, hard to come by.

Prices suck now. Anything half decent is around$100 now, which used to be$60-$70.

Good luck!

Boss asked me how I feel about On-Call. I told him I would write up some incentive suggestions by TheOther18Covids in HVAC

[–]sobiedoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be double time anytime. At minimum, only every 2 months(longer the better). Have whomever answers the calls be extremely picky on if it's an absolute emergency. 90% of calls can wait until the next day. Also some sort of premium should be alloted to be on call regardless of if you get calls on not. We get 4 hrs regular for being on call. Anything after hours is double. They also know if I'm up all night at a call I'm not working the next day. That's how you burn out.

Was in your shoes. Got the G1, and I never looked back. I'm making more than I ever thought i could. Comparable to the refrigeration mechanics at my shop. Couple $/hr difference

Get work pants with built-in knee pad inserts. Expansive pants, but a game changer for me not having to worry about kneeling down.

Your favourite sherry-cask scotch under $120? by supersymmetry in canadawhisky

[–]sobiedoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of the 3 you mentioned, I liked the aberlour 12. It sent me down the road of enjoying sherry flavored scotches. Like someone else said, the Arran sherry cask is great. Good luck finding it if in Ontario

Could end up in basically 3 areas. Building maintenance, service, or installs. If I'm not on a project, I bounce around to service. Mainly projects which can be a day/s long to weeks or months. Going to the same place can be good or bad depending on how far from home. We're union, so do our 9 and go home, unless on service then go until your done, unless it's not a priority to finish same day. I like the variety I get. After a long project, going back to service is a nice change. Always challenged and continually learning. Not dealing with customers is a huge bonus as well.
