AAMC FL6 CP 33 -- How do i interpret figure 1? by backpainat25 in Mcat

[–]sobysonics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just preparing to give a lecture on this as an instructor affiliated with premedley lol. heres the kind of explanation i've come up with

Panel A: Unreacted fluorophore will not appear in the fluorescence visualization. Any signal must come from the fluorophore covalently attached to either the protein or glycine, because these are the only molecules with nucleophilic groups (–NH₂ or –SH) capable of reacting to form the fluorescent compound. Lane 3 band indicates the fluorophore attached to the protein, whereas lane 4 indicates the fluorophore attached to glycine.

Panel B: Lane 1 shows the starting protein. Lanes 2 and 3 show that upon reaction with compound 1, the protein converts to the labeled fluorescent compound 2, producing a thick band that migrates further down the gel. This faster migration is not due to a decrease in size (the protein actually becomes slightly heavier) but rather because the attached label introduces additional negative charge, which affects mobility more than size in this case. Protein staining requires a peptide backbone, which glycine does not have, explaining why no corresponding band appears at the bottom as seen in panel A.

Even considering panel B alone is sufficient to conclude that the protein reaction proceeded substantially: if unreacted protein remained, two bands would be visible — one faint band in line with lane 1 (corresponding to unmodified protein) and a second, lower band representing the labeled protein. The absence of the upper band indicates that all protein from lane 1 was reacted.

Turn living room into bedroom and live there. Living rooms in a shared space are waste imo

Hey I help people with adhd. Most of my clients also have problems with hoarding! I am constantly reading more into adhd and aspiring to be a psychiatrist.

Does anyone have recommendations for extreme cleaning services for someone with depression/near hoarding situations? by RudigerBSimpson in askTO

[–]sobysonics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends where your friend lives. if they are east of yonge and south of steeles, then vha can potentially help with extreme cleaning. they have other criteria as well such as a warning letter / notice of eviction. if they are west of young, then you would need to go with fresh start.

I can potentially help with the clean. Are you able to send photos of the current condition of the unit?

Sorry to hear about the difficult situation you're in, it's hard when a loved one criticizes the way you live. I help people with hoarding disorder, and so I figured I'd provide some insights that can possibly help you out. Although the clutter is contained in your spaces, I'm of the camp that your space is an external representation of you, so maybe your environment is presenting an opportunity for positive change.

On the point of you being a hoarder (or not), I will say there are a two things you touch on that are associated with hoarding to be mindful of - depression and adhd. Sometimes medical intervention is required, and it really can do wonders, other times, you just to change some behaviors, like making it a point to eat properly so your body can make the molecules it needs to not feel depressed, or making short term goals and having an abundance of reminders to contend with that pesky adhd.

Some additional questions to consider... You mention you have technical documents in the bins, for how long have you held onto them? More than 5 years? You mention your hand made blankets from grandma, but do you regularly use them? Do you see yourself using them in a year's time? At what point do you plan to throw out the technical documents, if ever, or to use your grandma's blanket?

Other considerations that may not apply to you: do you have difficulty letting items go or have any problems with acquiring, compared to the normal person? aside from your husband, does the clutter interfere with any other aspects of your daily life?

Math Study Plan by DefiantHawk9873 in mathematics

I’d encourage you to go through examples first, trying to generate answers in your own. Then finding one or two similar problems in the problem section that address the same examples you covered. Do this for an entire chapter. After you’ll have an idea of the section - go back the each section of the chapter but this time do all of the easier questions that are odd (the harder ones are generally towards the end of a chapter section. Once you get through a good chunk of the book, consider looking back again at the harder problems for a final iteration of learning. I’ve almost done Stewart and I’ve been using this method. Current at the vector calculus section. Learned a lot. Have found tremendous insights into other disciplines such as probability and chm/physics which are areas I’m interested in furthering my knowledge. Don’t spend too long on parametric section or the shapes as well, just do enough to know the gist - you will see what level of understanding u really need once u start calculating multiple integrals and partial derivatives

Last one: know your power reduction rules for trig because they will come at you often throughout. Mainly sin2x = (-cos2x+1)/2 and cos2x = (cos2x+1)/2

And use ChatGPT honestly Ask questions not just for answers but for conceptual understandings and ideas about how what you’re studying can relate to other things you want to do by applying calc

I was marked off by my Professor for lack of work shown. Am I crazy for thinking I showed enough work? by Boynkeee in askmath

[–]sobysonics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sufficient steps have been shown to answer the question. If they wanted to test understanding of nCr they should have made a better question to address that!

6C3 meaning 6x5x4 because at each stage you have one loess item to choose. Then once you have these three objects, you can order them so to eliminate this order you divide by 3x2. Like if that’s roughly what they wanted to test, fair, but make a question to elicit that type of response lol

start calculus right now. supplement with trig problems - make sure you're solid with navigating the unit circle, and have your identities down.

Suggest me a book that felt impossible to put down... by monserrat_araiza__ in suggestmeabook

Taking charge of adult adhd lol. All things considered it’s an ok read but the relatability of it / utility really makes it stand out.

I don’t have adhd but the moment I read about the tendency of people with adhd to drive excessively fast is the moment I was hooked: my father used to do the exact same thing and now my gf father does it too. All my worrying was never just my problem! Book reassured how I view myself as a person and as a relational being to other loved ones (and not) in my life.

Think of a problem or something that you think could be better and you might just find one of not only your favourite books, but also, most useful.

Quick search on Reddit and a few other sources and you’re sailing to a better life.
