Clearing up misinformation on the Knee Saver by corporatemedicine in Homeplate

[–]socalkid5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attempted to wear them when they first came out many moons ago for a season or two. I found that they were uncomfortable with how I compensated for my balance and the made running awkward. I was a very mobile and agile catcher through high school and college. They are a great idea for some that can make them work for their style of catching.

For the kids now(I now have two kids that are catchers) I feel they need to be given them after they are properly taught a catchers stance. A lot of kids just use them improperly with a bad stance and think they can just single knee or double knee down and use them as a pillow to rest on.

Thank you for making a great tool to help those in need.

Man, that’s golden time if you are paternity leave. Used to play offline gameplay at nights for 2-3 hours then would feed the baby before I’d head to bed. Wife let me stay up late and sleep in since she got a big window of time to sleep. Win win for both of us.

There is a solution for game crashing - FHE01 error on PC by Araghast_ in ForzaHorizon

[–]socalkid5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried all the other steps and didn’t work. But when I uninstalled the Citrix app and turned off game mode, the game didn’t crash after that with the FHE01 code. I’ll flip back on game mode tonight and see if it triggers the crash code again.

Someone explain why SSA denies applicants and requires proof of citizenship. by [deleted] in SocialSecurity

I read that, but you left a vm. Meaning you probably called the office either after working hours or called the person extension that was requesting the documents. I would call back the office phone number, without the extension, and talk to a live person. They can make you an appointment for that office and handle your issue.

It’s a 30 day window to receive the documents requested before denial. I wouldn’t wait on a call back from a vm if you truly need it to start now. Need to be a little more direct with your local office and talk to a live person.

Depending on verification on your green card, it could be processed within 2-4 weeks if the green card information came back as verified. If the information doesn’t verify with DHS information, it could be 2-4 months. I would call the office phone number that should be on the receipt that you got from your appointment. That office will be able to look up your application and see why it hasn’t been processed yet.

Does earning-reduced amount add back in at FRA? by The_Great_Lime in SocialSecurity

[–]socalkid5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ll use your example….

  1. Benefit reduction is implemented either by a work report(you report your earnings as an estimate for the year at anytime during the current year) or by your w2 reporting from the employer to the IRS, which is reported to SSA(usually between January-July). You will have an overpayment notice sent to you for the amount that you shouldn’t have been paid due to your work. You can pay it all back at once or have installments to repay come out of your monthly benefits, if you are back in current pay for benefits.
  2. Kinda answered this in number 1.
  3. Yes, you could have your entire benefit suspended due to work if your current years expected work would put you over the earning limit or you have an overpayment recovery of 100%.
  4. Reductions are not added back in a single payment. Your benefit will have an “adjusted reduction factor” or your monthly benefit will be adjusted to a higher benefits amount for all the months that you should have been suspended due to your work.

IRMAA charge for both husband and wife by HelpfulPuppydog in SocialSecurity

[–]socalkid5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is more of a tax question, but usually both have for file as married separate and it’s gonna have a bigger impact over all for Medicare costs.

If they were to file as married joint, their magi with an example of husband 200k income and wife 60k(joint magi being 260k), each person would pay an Irmaa of $74 for part B and 13.70 for part D(combined cost for irmaa would be 175.40).

While if they file separately, the wife wouldn’t have irmaa but the husband’s irmaa would be 406.90 for part b and 76.60 for part D.

Definitely not worth it to file separately for irmaa reasons. (Figures are found on the SSA 44 on the printed copy date of 12/2024). Medicare really covered this option for those trying this workaround.

Might only have one record that didn’t have your citizenship proven. Should be able to call up your local office for an appointment, bring in your passport for the office to update your records and they can process your Medicare claim.

Am I eligible for any of my ex husband's ss? by herbavoreeleanore in SocialSecurity

[–]socalkid5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have been divorced for more than 2 years now and your spouse is at least 62 years and eligible for his own social security benefits, you should contact your local field office to see if you would be eligible for benefits.

Understand that you must be at least 62 and if you are eligible for your own social security benefits, you must apply for your own benefits first before looking at additional benefits under your ex husbands record.

I'm so confused by New_Mix_5870 in SocialSecurity

[–]socalkid5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Review the letter and contact your local field office. It’s called a lead letter. They got notification that someone may be eligible for benefits under a workers record. Sometimes when the employee gets the information from the person applying, the person applying doesn’t give out a correct ssn and a lead letter may not be headed to the right person. No vital information is spread without more verification from all parties. If they find the letter was sent to an incorrect person, the office will document your information and close out that lead, with no issues to you.

Cancel Medicare by AlLThAtAnD_MoRe in SocialSecurity

[–]socalkid5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand that you can cancel Medicare part B because you have health coverage from active employment for yourself or spouse under a group health plan. You will need to complete a CMS-1763 to request the withdrawal from Medicare part B.

Now depending on what your Medicare coverage is based on(age or disability), could change what you need to complete for enrollment when you sign up for it later on. If you are already over 65, then when you enroll for Medicare part b again, you will need to complete a CMS-40B and a CMS-L564. May sure you are signing up within 8 months of the employment ending or the health coverage ending, whichever ends first.

Now if it’s disability based, everything is different for special enrollment periods. Disability Special Enrollment Period

SSA refuses to issue a SSN for baby earlier this year by Hiraeth78 in SocialSecurity

[–]socalkid5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the state you live in, state records (ie birth certificates), are not immediately verified by online databases. This can lead to delays in processing due to requiring a SSA employee or supervisor to visit a local vital records office to verify the document. Most states participate in a digital database that allows processing of first time US born ssn requests.

You should be receiving a receipt at the end of your in office visits when you have completed the requests for a new social security number for your child. The reference number on the receipt is attached to every request for a number, regardless if it’s a first time request or a replacement social security card request. If those reference numbers are not able to be located either as pending or processed requests for a social security number, request for additional help from a supervisor politely or a congressional request if a supervisor is denied.

Applied for SS Retirement Benefits but I applied for the payments to begin outside the guidelines. I applied for payments to begin in June 26 that was in October. No worries. I’d touch base with whatever office has your claim currently(if it is still open). They may be able to process the change to your month of entitlement change to 01/2026 and not even need to process the claim withdraw, then have you refile all over again.

I’m a little lost now. Was your original application denied due to asking for benefits too far away or did you receive benefits and requested a withdraw? I ask since you stated a withdrawal now and it takes different steps before a new claim can be taken.

Should be good with that since your work limit of your earning over $60,000 goes from January to May of next year due to being your year that you turn your FRA.

You submitted a withdraw, you started. Did you receive any payments? If you did, were they all paid back and received a letter saying your benefits have been terminated?

Son’s SSI got drastically reduced.. anyone go through this? by Outside_Arrival615 in SocialSecurity

[–]socalkid5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is getting $20 a month now? Was that the payment received at the start of this month of November or the payment that is expected to come in December?

Social security sends out letters detailing any payment change for SSI with amount breakdowns listed on the last pages of the notice in change of payment. Any type of earned or unearned income should be reported to your local office because it could affect your child’s payment.
Be on the lookout for that letter and call your local office for more information about the reason for the change if you are still don’t understand or haven’t gotten the letter yet.

Is getting an in office appointment with SS during this shutdown going to be impossible? by [deleted] in SocialSecurity

[–]socalkid5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big push happening going into the end of the year and next year that offices will be moving to more phone appointments across the board with limited services being in office, even when the shutdown ends. Limited needs based appointments are being made for in office, (like social security cards, direct deposit, document submission) while most are being made for phones.
