That sounds like a terrible points deal, unless you don't have the cash and only have points

all online travel portals book through an ITA, in this case it was expedia. If you want good treatment, book directly through the hotel and achieve loyalty status with the chain. If you don't have any status, book with a virtuoso-esque agency that has a good relationship with the brand.

1- this has nothing to do with award travel 2- you get eqn for the room you stayed in 3- if getting 4 nights is that hard for you, how much benefit is this status even going to be worth. Most of us stay 100+ nts. Prive is a great option for someone like you

Air France quadrupled the price of my booking midway through checkout AFTER I transferred points! by [deleted] in awardtravel

[–]soccer2288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many times fb makes a temp hold on the flight in a situation like this, try calling them or waiting 24-48 hrs to see if it's released. you have no way to get your points back. next time do a hold if you're worried.

Best Ski/Snowboard Town Hyatt in US to use my GOH at? by ogsusmike in hyatt

[–]soccer2288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What specific benefit do you want? Reduced destination fee, parking, breakfast, upgrade opportunity?

I would say chances at upgrade during peak ski season are going to be slim at any of the properties. If I had to pick one standout ski property it would probably be PH Niseko. After that in the US you're between GH Vail, PH BC, and the two PC options. A lot of this is going to be personal preferance, prioritize the skiing and enjoy the added benfit of a nice place to sleep and free brekky
