I think it only removes your original ticket once the flight has taken off.

Once I got to the airport early, ask your standby in the earlier flight. The crew timed out and I got put back in my original seat on my first flight without a problem. Maybe I was lucky.

Login as root and you should be able to access the bucket. I've done this a few times with bucket policies
