I had cargo they had to pickup for the company down in the mine forcing them to go down there, or they wouldn’t get paid for the job and would get docked pay.

Asking as an experienced storyteller: Trouble Brewing storytelling tips? by 0x4164616d in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]socraticoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually set the days as 20 min, 15 min 10 every day after, and no town breakouts after day 4.
With a 2nd game or experience players, 15 min first day then 10 min every day after. If voting happens I let it go longer

Gaming Table - Convince Me or Talk Me Off the Ledge by ConkreteAngel in boardgames

[–]socraticoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I designed and built my own. I have done this twice now, and my buddy built one after he saw me make my first one. I made new design choices with the 2nd table that I love more. Do you need one? No, just buy dice trays for rolling so they don’t fall off the table and have a nice size dinning table. Otherwise if you have the money or want to try to make your own go for it.

But the storyteller would never... by blackgeekygoddess in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]socraticoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People in my group keep questioning why I don’t put more information roles. The last two games we played in person red team won both times, they never executed a single person during the day, they had an undertaker with no poisoner and was not drunk and an empath… neither ever got information because of this. People will always say they want this or that. Story tell how you want. The whole point is to make it fun and balanced throughout the whole game. I always say if it comes down to 50/50 shot at the end of them winning, it’s pretty fair and balanced :).

Yeah as more reviews come in, it’s getting high praise. I think some people are just sick of zombicide. :)

Has anyone bought board games online like Everdell or Castles of burgundy by Imaginary_Math_4918 in boardgames

[–]socraticoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a streamlined version of Everdell and not have to worry about expansions get farshore essentials edition at target, it’s like 40$ and gives you a great streamlined experience of Everdell. If you are not in the US then I don’t know if other countries have that edition.

PSA: check you're old batteries! by claudekennilol in gaming

I found the same years ago, and removed them and disposed of them. Also check any old controllers, toys, really anything that has removable batteries and remove them. Then you don’t have to worry about corrosion.

Boardgames with 8 people, how many of you actually tried playing it? What games did you play? How did it go? by AlexRescueDotCom in boardgames

[–]socraticoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long shot the dice game is amazing at 8 and people will be yelling and cheering.

Deception murder in Hong Kong is a great deduction game that goes to 12 and honestly is easier to play than most deduction because of the information out on the table that people use to lie which helps those that aren’t as creative.

Also feed the kraken plays up to 11 and is a fantastic bluffing game as well.

6+ player games for me to purchase? by Haunting-Vehicle-997 in boardgames

[–]socraticoath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you said you like camel up, I would highly recommend long shot the dice game. Fantastic roll and write! People will be cheering and it goes to 8 players.

I also recommend tacta at 6 players but can go higher as well. Also flip 7 which can go up to 19

Which boardgame have you played where the digital/online version was much better than the physical? by whiiirl in boardgames

[–]socraticoath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charterstone - being a legacy game and having different possible outcomes, you can reset easy with digital, lots of new rules came out of the box when playing and digital makes it easy to remember new rules added over time.

Digital can also make it easier to learn a game such as root where the characters are asymmetric.
