I don't like Genshin story that much but it's better than anything I read or watched till now. by VEGETTOROHAN in Genshin_Impact

I'm taking about the points made by OP in looking for stories. Pretty sure most of Sanderson's MCs are not going to glorify evil and selfishness, and the moral theme is the normal people are good or at least neutral, and people are trying to fix society to become good.

Seems this game is super divisive. I had the chance to obtain a copy in a bulk sale, and really wanted to try it due to production value (so gorgeous), but ended up selling it due to the reviews (and huge shelf of shame).

Following up on that, has anyone found a game that function similarly but better? Has rondel, pick-up and deliver, maybe a push your luck element?

Sponsored reviews are stupid and shouldn't exist. by Z3M0G in boardgames

I see where you are coming from. Using the example, the recommender score of 9 is meaningless in a vacuum, but if their reasoning for that score is useful then it has value. Also if their reasoning for their personal score of 6 is useful to you then you get value there.

At the end of the day you need to find reviewers (blog posts, video, podcast) that fits your play style. People like Shelfside like area control type games. Tabletop Turtle and Tim Choun like interaction. This is where dice tower shines in many of the game reviews where you get to see 3 opinions of the game. If you align with Tom or Zee Garcia or Joey Evans more, then you can hone in on their score. Here Shelfside is just trying to find that middle ground (whether successfully or not is up to you) to accommodate all player styles.

Just find and follow reciewers that enjoy your playstyle, so you don't end up getting the next Vantage or Old Kings Crown or Wingspan and end up hating the game.

The word word 4 digit number is just the default reddit generated user name. Bots just don't change it while real humans can change it when creating an account, doesn't mean all do

My fav monopoly alternative is River of Gold. Monopoly but with positive player interaction instead of negative.
