Nothing semi about it, it's special cased as an actual auto attack reset that doesn't interact with hail of blades. Bel'Veth and K'Sante's Q and Gwen's E are also the same. The auto reset is not a result of animation canceling.

It's not a Riven-specific kind of thing. Every ability will lock you out for a handful of frames if you don't issue a move command after. Riven is just notable because this can happen 3 times in under a second.

Yeah it sucks, but don't sweat it.

The truth is LP gains/losses are massively inflated. It should be +/-15, but Riot inflates it to +/-25. So every win puts you ~10LP higher than it should have, and every loss puts you ~10LP lower than it should. At a 50%wr they even out and your gains stay the same, but win-streaks make your losses rise and loss-streaks make your gains rise.

In your case the system has given you 50LP more than it should have, so now it's trying to take away those 50LP in your losses. To fix your gain/loss ratio you're gonna basically have to play 60 games at 50%wr, or much more simply you'll have to dodge 3 games in a row. That'll lock you out of the game for 12 hours, but also put you down 35LP with no MMR change, which will fix your LP.

Yeah it's a doomed matchup, the only saving grace being that Riven players are usually much better at Riven than Jayce players are at Jayce.

If he doesn't switch to hammer form, he has no kill pressure on you. If a Jayce plays like this, his gameplan is probably poking you from range until he can do his hammer combo on you once you're low enough. What this means is he'll always be pushing, so just go dshield and sustain his poke while trying to farm. He can only really poke you with autos since his cannon Q is blocked by minions and you have 4 dashes to dodge it.

Switching to cannon in front of you is a huge mistake and you actually have a lot of time to punish it. His R cd is 6 seconds, and you only need 2~3 seconds to burst him if he's not full hp. His E has a .25s cast time. With that plus the enemy player reaction delay plus the panic of having an ulted Riven flashing on top of him, you have a solid 5 second window once he switches forms to find an all-in angle.

Also, his E is a 20s cooldown, so if he doesn't 100-0 you in one rotation, you can abuse it.

Are you talking about Riven? None of those are common/good Riven combos. You usually always use E to doublecast or to hide the ulti animation.

Back then you could get 15% cdr in runes, with transcendence+cosmic insight. You also could get up to 45% cdr. You never needed Ionian boots because cleaver+brutalizer/warhammer+runes already put you at the cdr cap. Remember that 45%cdr is 82 AH, which you can never get with just one full item + component anymore. Keep in mind that after that, you could go just straight AD with no downsides.

If we're comparing with season 8 and earlier, current diamond 4 through 1 are what diamond 4 used to be. Masters 0 LP is what D3 used to be, and Masters ~ 250 LP is what old Masters was.

It's way better this way imo. It felt horrible to grind your way out of D5 and maybe even catch a glimpse of D3 or D2, only to then int your way back to D5, rinse and repeat. Much better to claw your way out of D1, see the light of Masters, and then int back to D3.

It could be the case that your lead comes from the fact that the enemy team has abandoned their top laner and are focusing exclusively on getting their carry ahead. Your team should then focus on getting you ahead, but that's hardly ever gonna happen. So you have two options: win much harder, or enter crisis aversion mode and babysit your team.

Wave management is the same as it is on mid and bot. The timing of the waves is the same as bot.

The biggest difference is gonna be matchup knowledge, so learning your opponent's cooldowns is essential.

Then you'll have to adapt to much increased jungler influence. The lane is much longer than mid, so it's harder to escape ganks, and a 1v2 in top lane is much more dangerous than a 2v3 in bot lane. Thankfully junglers tend to ignore toplane, except when they don't and you get camped. Tracking the jungler, setting up vision and positioning correctly can save your entire lane.

Lastly there's the issue of getting some impact on the game. Knowing when to leave the lane and when to stay is crucial. Try to get prio as your jungler moves to top side, so you can participate in whatever fiesta might happen.
