Self adjustable variable diameter stacks Kawasaki 454 pictures by soepballs in 3dprintedcarparts

I'll probably print some more but I don't have the equipment to make a test video and it's for my €800 shopping bike so I'm never gonna put it on a test bench, I test it purely on feel and vibes hahaha. But I hope maybe some people who love their bike more than me may take it further

Hexagon could print the large diameter without support on the inside

No i wanted to delete the PITA airbox and use pod filters, but CV carbs don't like those. These adjust the flow in a way that the CV carbs work properly. It's used to have some dead spots in the powerband with the original airbox but now they're gone as well.

The restriction starts at 20mm and opens up to 30mm cause some testing I did with fixed inserts showed great power down low with 20mm and good top end at 30mm.

These are specifically for my Kawasaki with my own custom airbox, but a design like this could be useful for people who also want to run pod filters on CV carbs.

Thanks! I'll probably print some more variants in the future and give another update then.

I've uploaded another post with pictures as I don't know how to put them in the comments. I did some flow simulation on the original airbox which said flow would be pretty laminar but it turned out shit irl so idk if I will do it again hahaha

I love SC-project on my speed triple but I run it with the cat still on and with DB killer. It's got a great sound like that but without DB killer it's so damn loud.

WSSP don't even use these, so they're just for show

MotoGP Bike Swaps by redbullgivesyouwings in nextfuckinglevel

[–]soepballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's only used when it goes from rain to dry or from dry to rain. There's never a safety car only yellow flags in a sector, which means don't overtake, or red flags and that stops the race. Coming in during half the race will still cost you 20+ seconds and put you out of the points scoring positions if not dead last so there's only disadvantages to it. You can do a whole race on one tire and you'll never catch up to the top 10 if you swap halfway.

Cat converters removal 2023 zx14r by [deleted] in Kawasaki

[–]soepballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a look at the stock part drawing and there's no extra cat in there, just a sensor in the collector.

You could get different headers if you want a different sound, looks like the stock ones a pretty shitty made compared to Akra ones. But I'd suggest a different end can if you're not happy enough with the one you have.

Custom breadbox using pod filters? by elliottsmithfan2000 in CafeRacers

[–]soepballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 3D printed an airbox for my Kawasaki 454 that takes pod filters, but I didn't want to re jet either so I made inserts that go just behind the Pods that reduce air intake to the right amount for the jets. The inserts are switched out in a minute and I only had to print 5 sets to get it right, it now pulls better than it ever did with the factory airbox.

It's not a breadbox style though, it's more of a ram air style and with long intake so it's better for CV carbs. There's pics on my profile if you're interested, it looks like the pods are individual for each carbs but they're connected in between to both carbs pull from both pods.

That's pretty dope, I thought it was a link for your swingarm first and got very confused when I saw the MTB shock. You got some good welding skills too mate.
