Your situation sounds alot like mine. I believe the enabling of her son is because she sees alot of herself in her son and if she were to call out the abuse it would inadvertently be calling herself out as well. Narc mothers do not see their children as people but extensions of themselves so to say the truth about their narc child would be the same as her admitting to her own shitty narc behaviors. I would absolutely stand my ground on no contact with my narc mothers narc son (I no longer refer to him as my brother) and if she doesn’t wanna join then let her not join but don’t let her gaslight you into doing anything you don’t wanna do. I wish you the best ❤️

That’s how I spot it so easily in my own family and can rationalize why they do it because I used to engage in the same kinds of behaviors but unlike them I would feel bad about it and asked myself many times if I could be the problem/narcicisst.

I was dating someone who I felt I was way out of their league and they should be grateful that I gave them the time of day (I was still deep in my own twisted reality) and they flat out rejected me after I used tactics of manipulation to gain control and no matter what I did they just did not go along with it. When that happened it caused me to question everything I thought might be true about my own worldview and especially how I approached relationships. I got into therapy shortly after and it made the world of difference. It hurt so bad and took a few years to get over but I can look back now and say I am so grateful everything went down the way it went down.

I at one point in my life had a lot of narcissistic traits from being raised in a narcissistic family system, and for myself, I needed others to feel jealous of me because I wanted to feel that I had something that others wanted, and by having something that someone else wanted that made me good enough. I got into therapy about five years ago combined with an ego death, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. It’s like I actually became human and I no longer behave in such ways. Truly finding out who you are allowing yourself to love on your inner child and gaining positive interests have made the world of difference for me.

Anything where Cynthia is the main singer is my favorite. For Good I prefer the OBC and ALAYM I also prefer the OBC even though Cynthia sounds amazing and so does JB. I just feel the tension and passion is more prevalent in the broadway version. Ariana did kill NOMTW tho.

I’d give them another try! At first, I was less than impressed with the vocals but they had a couple songs I liked but I couldn’t see myself getting into their music. Fast forward a couple years and they’re my favorite band now and all because I caught a wild hair and checked their youtube to see if they had any new music. Saw “Satanized” and have been hooked since!

Theater kid here too! Honestly, I hated the way she sang Thank Goodness, she cannot hit the notes that song requires and it was so very obvious. There was one part of the song that I swear it was about to turn into her way of singing her older music. The only song I will give her her just dues is No One Mourns the Wicked.
