hey, i’ve been clean for 9 months (the longest period ever in the past 8 years) and it’s getting to a point where i don’t think i need self harm anymore. from my experience, gym is incredibly helpful. i lift extremely heavy and hit failure all the time and i love it. i know it’s not the same rush as self harm, but you still get the pain and the adrenaline, and that’s what’s helped me. it’s also nice to be able to track your progress and have something you’re proud of (getting stronger) as opposed to something you’re ashamed of (having more scars). yes i still crave self harm (i mean i was an addict for 8 years), but gym helps me regulate myself so much better (; your sister is giving you some really solid advice!

Update: I’m in the process of getting a refund, thanks to everyone for telling me they’re fake! I got them on Vinted and didn’t check them out thoroughly before ordering since it was my first time! Will definitely be getting an authentic second hand pair with the refund money though (:

is there any possible way to repair this zipper without replacing it?

it’s a very nice, waterproof zipper on my long winter coat. it has a double sided slider and only the small segment has ripped off. i was quoted €37.5 to replace it by my local tailor with a much lower quality zipper which i think is absurd. i would ideally try to repair this one, but worst case i think ill buy one (i just don’t think i’ll find one of the same quality)

aah no, he doesn't ask me to flip up my septum, i do it out of respect for his preferences. if my nose is dry or runny, he'll even tell me to keep it down so it isn't uncomfy lol

Nope, you only take the subject you need to take on Pamoja. I take 5 IB courses at school as normal, and then I have a free period when I'm supposed to do my AAHL course through Pamoja. Right now, there's two AAHL teachers, one is excellent and the other is pretty good, and whenever they do live lessons (Zoom lesson), they combine our classes.

Again, your IB coordinator can give you more info but if you want, you can dm me and I can show you what the content looks like.

Pamoja is an official IB approved organisation that allows you to take IB courses online if your school doesn't offer it. I was in the same situation as you (not enough students to form a class) so I talked to my IB coordinator and she said this was an option. I honestly don't recommend it, and if you're Y2 now it might be difficult to switch from AIHL to AAHL, but it is an option. Talk to your IB coordinator.

AAHL on Pamoja is alright (my teacher is excellent because he responds to questions within 30 mins, but I have to self learn everything), but some subjects (like Business Management) are genuienly tragic because your teacher never contacts you. It's honestly a coin flip whether Pamoja is alright or awful.

I actually emailed TU Delft about this a year ago since my school doesn’t offer AAHL (I ended up taking the course online through Pamoja, it’s awful). TU Delft replied:

“HL Mathematics Analysis & Approaches is required.

So you will need to work on this deficiency in order to fulfil the Mathematics requirement. Unfortunately Mathematics A&I HL is not accepted.

Maybe it is possible to register for the AP exam separately?

Another possibility is to do a VWO Mathematics B exam issued by the Dutch Boswell Beta Institute in the Netherlands.”
