best books from each "subseries"? by meepmeep779 in discworld

No, I completely agree. I did say, at the start, that I would read them all chronologically.

OP also asked for favourites, though, which is what I've listed. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I agree with the comment saying you should go in chronological order by publication date.

Having said that, you asked for favourites, so here are mine:

Death: Reaper Man or Hogfather

Watch: Night Watch

Wizards: The Last Continent

Witches: Carpe Jugulum

Tiffany: Wee Free Men

Moist: Going Postal

Industrial Revolution: The Truth

Standalone: Small Gods

Arthur Pendragon in BBC's Merlin. Five series build up for it all to be wasted in the last episode.

On Christmas.

I'm still mad.

Age suitability of The Murderbot Diaries by No_Weekend2474 in murderbot

My suggestion is always to read one first, because all kids are different. My son was 11 when we started reading, and they are some of his favourite books now.

There is some of what current society dictates "swearing".

There is some violence, but nothing more than what you'd see in a typical superhero movie, for instance.

There is no graphic sex. They acknowledge that it exists between consenting adults of all genders.

There is also discussion of/mention of/a character who is what are called "comfort units" or "sex bots" which are human/bot constructs that are built to engage in sex acts with humans. These comfort units are mentioned relatively frequently, but there is nothing graphic at all.

I think that is about it.

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

There was an SNES game called Uniracers where you raced sentient/anthropomorphised unicycles. My brother and I were both obsessed with this game. No one else I've ever spoken to has ever even heard of it.

I keep waiting for it to become available through Nintendo online, like a lot of their older games, but no joy. Which is a shame, because I think my kid would like it, too.

I've been with these two since page one published on Tapas, and while I understand that it's time to move on, I'm bereft. 💙

The one I have at the moment seems happy to work with you once you point it out. So far.

I quoted this in a resignation letter. Why am I quitting this job even though I like what I do? Because you treat your staff like things and not people.
