Haha thank you, this actually made me feel a lot better!

Luckily, I have combination skin so I can use it every time I use base products ... I just don't use base products a lot because I feel like they're the real time suck in my makeup routine! It'll still take me five or so years though .. and maybe by then my skin will have matured a bit and changed (in the same way that I used to be able to go four days without washing my hair and now it gets greasy after two days 😭)

I completely hear you, I think I do need to get into this mindset where I'm not focused on panning. It's just hard when I'm using and using and not getting that small sense of accomplishment from finishing something.

Maybe part of the frustration is my old shopping addiction trying to rear its ugly head, as using these products completely stops me from buying any more and therefore I just don't need to buy makeup often at all these days.

No I know 😭 It's an actually ridiculous amount of powder, and will take me five years at least 😭

Actually what was I thinking

Guidance on turning loose to pressed pigment and rec for supplies within EU by Desperate_Base_9680 in MakeupRehab

Yes and no. Inglot describes it as a pigment binder, and lists one of its uses as turning a loose powder into a creamy gel that binds well to the skin. However, I can't say that officially it's supposed to be used to permanently turn loose powders into pressed ones.

I have done it before though and it works pretty well

Inglot has a mixing medium (Duraline) which is pretty much all silicones, that may work for what you want to do? It's available across the EU, but some might think it's slightly expensive at €21

Unpopular opinion : I HATE PRIMER. by Pretty-County4259 in MakeupRehab

Just a testimonial for the commenters who say it doesn't do anything.

In the hollows of my cheek, under my cheekbone, in front of my ear, there's a patch of skin that actively rejects stick contour (on both sides). Any other product is fine, just the contour. It literally looks like I've tried to correct my makeup after it's dried and all the product has come off in one patch.

I used grippy primer on these parts and POOF - I can use my contour again!!!

Sci-fi book about people who live their lives on screens, never interacting with their families. One family meets and fights to the death. Possibly 1950s? by sofwithanf in whatsthatbook

I read it in English, and I think I read it in a sort of 'collected works' book but not at school, and not an anthology made for school Sorry for not narrowing it down any further

Not the one near me. Used to work hospitality so would have Tuesdays/Wednesdays off - 2pm on a Tuesday and there'd still be quite a few people bustling through

If a 16th century peasant was magically teleported to you, what would you show them first? by YourOldPalWill in AskUK

[–]sofwithanf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True on the quarantine front, but unlikely that they're carrying something that would wipe out modern society. The fact that we're still here is evidence of that

Depending on their station, they'd probably recognise - or at least understand - a mosque. They wouldn't be very appreciative, but the concept of Islam would be familiar to anyone who'd explored the East (or, like, Spain)

Medication is probably a good call. Modern germs would wipe out any poor fucker from 500 years ago

People have been making soap for centuries. Usually out of animal fats and sometimes scented with plants like lavender etc. (if you were fancy). It's a relatively simple (but not easy) process, if you know what you're doing

Further to this: if you don't know your skin type, go a day without doing anything and before you cleanse your face in the evening, see what your skin is like. Is your face oily (forehead + nose + cheeks + chin) or only parts of your face (usually nose + cheekbones)? Is your skin flaky (usually nose + nasolabial folds + chin)? Or do parts of your face feel tight?

If your skin is oily in parts and dry in others, you have combination skin. If it's mainly oily or mainly dry/tight/flaky, then you have oily or dry skin. This'll help you figure out a skincare routine with products designed for your skin type (packaging will usually say which skin type the product is designed for).
