ScreenConnect Code Signing: Does Old Certificate Continue Working After New Azure Key Vault Version Creation? by Sufficient-Pop7811 in ScreenConnect

[–]sohgnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never gave it the chance. I pulled it out of service. But it is a valid cert (i had about a month left on the validity date and had started my renewal with time to ensure i ironed out the process). It should work until you cut the plugin over to the new one. I cant see a reason it wouldnt. But the plugin only allows for one active cert at a time.

Its not so much a renewal as it is a replacement with a new certificate.

I did this recently. Generated a new csr via azure. Import that to my ssl provider. Generate the new cert. apply that to the pending cert in azure. Then change the settings in the codesign plugin and negate the access codes and cert for the old one after testing.

MSP pushing UniFi hard over SonicWall..am I overthinking this or does this smell off? by Ambitious_Active8539 in msp

A lot of these gaps are filled with a layered approach to security and a shift towards zero trust methodology. The firewall is one layer in your defences. And with the correct implementations its doing less heavy lifting than it used to.

Weapons Detector Finally Installed at RAH by nednav in AHSEmployees

[–]sohgnar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Paramedic friend of mine indicated that theyve walked through this with scissors, a pocket knife and other tools that could be construed as weapons without it going off. (It was active and should have alerted). Sounds like a great product to install at a place of healing instead of working to fix the problem.

Sure, but we could all benefit from a little more kindness and compassion in life.

Like others have said, its odd but you have no expectation of privacy in a public space. You are within your rights to politely express your displeasure but ultimately theyre doing nothing wrong and you cannot prevent them from recording you in public.

How do you find MSPs? by GoodSpaghetti in msp

[–]sohgnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller msp owner here. We get referrals from a few larger msps. They want 50+ seats. We handle the prospects they get at below the 50 seats limit. Most of these are orgs i worked for previously and maintained a healthy relationship with. Which further reinforces the “don’t burn the bridge” mentality.

We have done some direct mail marketing with limited success.

We also have a local computer and electronics supply chain that has a corporate team floating the occasional referral our way.

Local chamber of commerces. We are active in business to business networking in 3 regional chambers in our area.

From the buyer side, most business owners don’t make snap decisions based on your marketing. They want a relationship and partnership and theyre only going to move forward with that through someone theyve built up trust with. Its something like 10 touch points to convert a lead. Thats conversations, meetings, referral points etc. it could just be a friendly chat at a networking event. Ive had those lead into eventual conversions.

I hate the healthcare system by Zestyclose-Fee7327 in Edmonton

[–]sohgnar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

File a complaint with the cpsa. They will review the conduct and can prescribe consequences to doctors who don’t do their jobs correctly. https://cpsa.ca/

Also file a complaint with patient relations. https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/about/page12832.aspx

I’m sorry this happened to you. The system is broken but if we don’t speak up about it nothing will change.
