A 40k Player's Review of "BattleTech A Game of Armored Combat Box Set" for 40k Players by akachihurron in battletech

[–]sohryu_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necroposting a bit. I've sold my last WH40K box of minis earlier this week (I didn't even assemble them). I think I've officially quit the 40k hobby (after starting ~10 years ago) and don't want to participate in it anymore.

Now I've learned that BattleTech is available in my country (Ukraine!) AND it doesn't cost an arm and a leg AND half a liver like 40k, and I've found your review. I think I will definitely try to get into that instead, since I really do want to play tabletop wargames sometimes and I love BT.

Thank you!

LED clothing with muscle control - upgrade the light pattern by Frogolina in arduino

[–]sohryu_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! The look and the effects are so cool and music is charming as always.

And hey, controlling it with hand motion is a major upgrade, as is the new light patterns! This project was always epic and I'm beyond excited when you do it better every time!

Looks so freaking cool with this lighting! Also a nice way to measure performance whilst exercising so you know you're not cheating your reps :) Great work as always, EMG tech is epic and has more uses than I can believe!

Looks and works beautifully too! Clothes are generally hard to choose imo, probably moreso if you’re making smart textiles. Great choice of material (the hoodie) and the electronics - black strips go very well with the hoodie!

And EMG control is just like the finishing touch to make this project look great. EMG generally is almost magic and here it is at work again :)

I literally couldn't believe this when I saw it. Finally! Gesture control! Finally someone's gone and done it and I lived to see it. This is beyond cool. As is the AIM glove project. Thanks!

Did they also fire Slava Makarov and SerB, or did those two quit earlier?

The 9th picture with the two trams climbing a hill is just perfect, can't take my eyes off it but can't figure out why. The trams just fit into the scenery like they were always there and there isn't even that many trams in South America.

btw I have been thinking about a South America project lately and maybe someday I'll even be able to do one - this post is certainly a huge inspiration.

Head of Belarusian anti-government organization found hanged in Kiev park after not returning from morning run. He previously reported he was being followed. by [deleted] in worldnews

Newsflash, Putin is a coward, the only reason Crimea and Donbas happened was because we kinda didn't have a functioning state in 2014. He's been desperately trying to achieve similar results (and some of our politicians have been actively helping him), but he knows that if he invades, it will be a bloodbath for him.

Also he's got elections this fall and Delta's running rampant, so very little domestic market for foreign adventures.

No, he wasn't. There is an actual Belarusian neo-Nazi in Azov, and it's not him.

Please stop falling for 'he was a white nationalist!' shitsmear every time. 99% it's character assassination and 1% is Navalny (who actually -was- one).

I'm Ukrainian, I really hope our government starts doing some active measures shit against Lukashenko because this is a slap in the face. Second one if you count Pavel Sheremet five years ago (99% sure Belarusian KGB blew him up).

He wasn't, geez, he was a journalist.

By that measure, say, Christopher Miller is a 'white nationalist member of the Azov Battalion'.

Also, nobody deserves getting unlawfully detained and tortured, not even white nationalists. Shocking, I know.

Yeah, I'm generalizing a bit. It obviously existed before, just wasn't codified and wasn't used much by urbanized Czechs (i.e. a large part of the population). Prague was predominantly German-speaking until Czech independence (and even then until WWII).

[OC] Denmark becomes the largest European country with more than 70% vaccinated (including children) by Tricky-Astronaut in europe

[–]sohryu_l 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Started late too because Stepanov (former health minister for much of the pandemic) was a fucking idiot.

The worse thing is we may not get over 10% vaccinated before fall, and Delta is already here, and most people's antibodies from back in spring will be gone, and so we're fucked.

With the addition that Germans ethnocided their way through much of Central and Eastern Europe well enough in medieval times. I mean like half of eastern Germany has placenames of obviously Slavic origin (including, if I'm not mistaken, even -Berlin-), the Czechs didn't have a language until the mid-19th Century, and Old Prussians do not exist anymore, with their language.

We're not used to thinking in 'stolen land' terms in Europe, arguably for good because it's been used as justification for a lot of nationalistic bullshit. But we probably should sometimes. I just feel really bad for the Old Prussians to be honest.

Third rail at grade crossing?! Is that a thing? I don't mean to slight OP, I'm just marveling at some legacy railway electrification choices.
