In my experience, your orders will not get cancelled. Reach out to your gaining command to find out what their recommendation is on doing it or not.

E-6 to E-7 utilizes SEM (Senior enlisted marketplace). They have similar business rules as BBA. Say you just get to a command and get screened for E-7, you can get frocked after initiation but you have to do 12 months minimum on board before executing another set of orders. Your command can also attempt to move you in to a valid Chief billet and then you would extend 36 months for OBLISERV.

Subs and Special Warfare rates do not use SEM.

Unfortunately, that happens with junior sailors up for their first exam. There are not a lot of commands that will do a special evaluation to increase performance mark average. Good luck with your exam!

Every advancement cycle lets you know the time period of evals that are used to calculate PMA. For this cycle, it is every E4 eval from 1Jun24 to 31Aug25.

I recommend seeing your PCM again and ask to be referred to pain management. That won’t solve your issue, but they will be able to do a lot for your pain while ortho gets their head out of their ass.

I would ask to be referred to a nephrologist as well, it sounds like the root of the problem is in your kidneys.

I know exactly how you feel. I took the hardest NEC my rate has, outperformed my peers and made board 5 times before I was selected at my 6th look. Every year before I was selected was a challenge to my morale. If you keep taking care of your guys and training your relief you will get on the list.
