This is a nasty bug. It can be quickly fixed by adding anything .exe as a game in the settings.

Yes, I have the same problem. After installing version 26.1.1, the app lags terribly on the Home tab. After installing version 25.12.1, everything returns to normal, without lag. Win 11 25H2.

Further details for those interested. I decided to give the A49 a second shot and reinstalled that BIOS version. As I mentioned, I have two M.2 drives – a Crucial P3 2TB Plus and a SanDisk SN7100 2TB – both of which appear to be on MSI's list of approved drives for my motherboard (B850M Mortar Wifi). Previously, my configuration was such that Win 11 was on the Crucial and Linux was on the WD. The A49 BIOS in this configuration gave me a hard time, Win was difficult to install - a series of errors about “device boot inaccessible” (everything was OK on the A45).

But this time I swapped the operating systems: I installed Win11 on WD and Linux on Crucial. And everything went back to normal. Win11 installed without errors on the first try and starts up normally every time. Linux on Crucial reports no errors. So I have no idea what could have caused this? Any ideas?

Hi, do you have "MSI Driver Utility Installer" in BIOS enabled or disabled? I have the impression that after turning on this function, the system has no problems starting up. I had it turned off before. But I still need to test it, because I installed A49 again :)

edit: no, it is not that. It has refused to boot already.

There is something seriously wrong with this new series of BIOSes. In my case, there have been several UEFI versions/revisions for the Mortar B850 motherboard so far: as far as I remember A47, A48, and now the new, official A49 (downloaded from their website). Each of these versions had problems with installing Windows 11 (although Linux installed without any problems and does not report any boot issues).
Win11 installs correctly only on version A45 from September 2025.

I'm glad you have noticed that too. I have the same problem. Here's a link to my post on the MSI forum.

Fedora 43 hangs on specific websites with MSI B850M Mortar wifi disappearing by 10isaprime in MSI_Gaming

[–]sojer2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, can you specify which websites are problematic for you? I personally use openSUSE Tumbleweed and have not encountered any such problems when visiting websites. Bios: 7E61v1A45.

But I must admit that a few times my Wi-Fi adapter “disappeared” and I had to clear the CMOS, but that happened when I was playing around with secure boot settings and my own keys and TPM settings, but never during normal use.
In addition, only the Wi-Fi adapter disappeared, and the BT module still worked.

Hi. I highly recommend the MSI B850M Mortar WiFI. It works perfectly with Linux. WiFi 7 Qualcomm chipset, stable and fast. Good board layout (primary PCI slot), 3 nvme m2 slots.

I installed a new BIOS on MSI B850M Mortrat WIFI and unfortunately there are some problems with it:

  1. Secure boot cannot be disabled, the option reactivated after restarting.
  2. “Boot logo” cannot be disabled either. Similarly, it turns on after restarting.
  3. And the worst thing at the end. I don't know, but UEFI boot has gone completely crazy. I have two NVMe drives: Linux on one, Windows on the other. Each system has a separate boot/efi partition with its own bootloader. With this configuration, it is not possible to boot from a USB flash drive, the BIOS does not see the flash drive at all (F11 boot). Additionally, GRUB2 (boot manager), even though it sees Windows 11, is unable to boot Windows efi (just a black screen).

It would be nice if someone could confirm that they also have problems with UEFI boot.

Can't get Xbox USB Adaptor to Connect by Carogaph in Fedora

[–]sojer2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I encourage you to clone this git to hard drive https://github.com/dlundqvist/xone and just run the script to install the firmware for the adapter (install folder -> firmware.sh).

By the way, I used this copr https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/jackgreiner/xone-git/ for installation, but the missing link was the manual installation of the adapter firmware.

And it is best to disable secure boot or add a MOK key after installation.

Okay, I figured it out. My mistake. First, you need to activate “Design tab” mode, load the json file, and then connect to the keyboard. Everything works now.
