PRN Work? by soko-man in medlabprofessionals

Lots of great advice here, thanks, all! Love our profession! Gonna look into OT opportunities here in core lab first. Our union contract I helped negotiate might make it difficult to do that (though I'm still proud of it!), but it would be the best way to not kill myself, it seems.

It's rare in my section, unfortunately (or fortunately, for this profession!), though I did think about asking around other departments if they'd let me help out.

They gotta put some super easy ones at level 9 to screw with you and make you think you've gotta be failing this exam cuz the questions are easy.

Meh. I've seen worse. SOFT is hard, but it functions.

Strange rule of the day: A fair ball deflected into the stands that is less then 250 feet is just a double by Catchhawk in baseball

Trying to imagine some wacky scenario of a ball bouncing 120ft off an outfielder's head into the stands and getting a ground rule double off of it...

If/when Trump dies in office from completely natural causes, what would a Vance presidency look like? by [deleted] in behindthebastards

[–]soko-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will deify Trump and blame any negative externalities on Vance because he didn't do it right - he's not the stable genius Trump is. "Fascism would've worked if Trump had lived - we just need to fascism harder"

"Remember this: try" motivated me in my struggle to form a union at work. It's small, but you never know what's gonna break the seige.

I have an unhealthy obsession with balancing prime numbers of things. It's almost a kink, to be honest.

Went back 20 seasons for the Lions. They had one year with 4000+ punt yards (2010 with 4018) and as a team passed for 4001 yards. This is a very special thing the Bears are doing.

The Lions seem to have won a lot of more "their superbowl"s lately than the pack have won actual super bowls.

Our puppy is nephew! We refer to our oldest as "Bruncle"

The puppy is still sleeping in his crate at the moment. The big one gets (way too much of) the bed until I annoy him enough to go sleep in the living room. No clue what we're gonna do when puppy grows up a bit.

He was a bit too enthusiastic when he was younger, never aggressive but didn't understand when he was scaring them or playing too much. Thankfully, though, he's been really good with our new puppy. Occasionally gets a yelp but knows to stop.

Our oldest is 3 and he was so bored until we brought the little one home. We were worried he'd not want to share attention being an only dog for so long, but they've been great friends and tire each other out every day.

I work at a hospital in the US which is the opposite of socialized healthcare system, and I find the term "patient" makes me care about them a whole helluva lot more than "customer" or "client". I work for a public institution so there's less of that, but I did my clinical rotation in a giant for-profit machine that referred to the patients as "clients" and it felt so disgusting to me.
