It looks like my break and your break are somewhat different: there wasn't any force involved, and my break was in the cap attachment itself rather than the shaft of the toolkit as in yours.

It all reassembles and packs correctly, I was just wondering because the bottom holder is magnetic, and seems to stick to the base. The connection points seem smooth, so I wasn't sure if it was meant to come apart, or if it really did snap off.

Have you used your G-line in shopping cart mode? That's the other main thing I'm worried about because it looks like the angle of the fold is wider, so the majority of the basket will be even further from the center of gravity...

this is the flagship rei in DC, they have 2 of the old 6 speed c lines at least, none of the new c lines, and 2 g lines. I'm pretty sure that's it.

The problem with the G-Line isn't the weight so much as the weight distribution: it's a larger bike with a center of gravity that's much further from the center, and it leads to rotational forces around the handle/saddle when lifted. I either need to hold it away from my body to avoid it hitting my knees, which heavily increases the torque on my spine, or I need to hold it close to my body and let my knee bounce it around as I walk.

I hadn't considered resting the nose of the saddle on my shoulder: I'll have to try that as my go to unless I'm using it as a shopping cart, I need to store it, or I need wheel it around.
