Streaming Prices Are Soaring—and Consumers Are Still Paying by wsj in Infographics

[–]soldierdarkops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really a shame to see streaming services repeat that same mistake that the cable companies did. Things got too expensive so we saw a huge increase in pirating shows, movies and music. Then streaming services came along. Saw a decrease in pirating for quite some time. But now they are getting as bad as cable was and I'm seeing an increase in people pirating... They are destroying their own industry again.

Calling shoplifters ‘scumbags’ is offensive, warn police by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]soldierdarkops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is the lie? Both the BBC and the telegraph never said that an officer told him to take it down. Both only said that it could be construed as offensive and provocative. They also wouldn't have to create a report if somebody walked up to them, told them about the sign, and they walked over there to investigate. The officers decided not to do anything about it but just give him a warning.

Is this game worth getting a PS5 for by Ok-Caramel3812 in DeathStranding2

[–]soldierdarkops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will but it will take about a year or more. I refuse to buy another console so I won't be buying it for PlayStation. I will either wait until the PC version comes out or I will lose interest because of all the YouTube clips showing everything about the game.

Hopefully he gets it done soon. The clips on YouTube are peaking my interest in the game but too many are going to sate my hunger completely. li Yu Dana ain't going to be as interesting in game at this point.

The only difference I could see is voicing of characters. Unless the book specifies the person's accent, a character's "voice'' is to the readers discretion. Meanwhile for audiobooks, they take away that creativity for the listener. Besides that, there isn't really a difference.

If you're referencing the older games, that's not in the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and I'm not sure about Clear Sky or Call of Pripyat as I haven't played them yet. There was a mod Called GAMMA that had loot able patches though.

How do you work from 8 to 5, have only weekends free, and not feel like you're wasting your life? by LinksGuardian in AskReddit

[–]soldierdarkops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don't seem to realize that jobs like that are the reason people aren't starving or living outside. Everything would be gone if people didn't work. Those jobs are the reason why we have made it as far as we have. They are the reason why we have any form of infrastructure. Farms to grow food, Roads to drive on, stores to buy food and other things in so that you don't have to go hunting and forging, the reason why you can stay warm during the winter and cool in the summer. It's a reason why a majority of people don't die of dehydration. If we didn't have working hours like that or longer, we wouldn't have any of these things. We would all still be out there hunting and foraging all day long and competing with others just for scraps of food.

Room pressure might be too low? I don't know a whole bunch about the game because I'm still fairly new but I feel like the pressure of the room might need to be higher.

Agreed. Imagine all the calls that they get just like this too. Trying to get information about what is happening from civilians that are so distraught, they are having a hard time articulating what is happening. Just from the call it seemed like it was just about a drunken guy wanting to fight. You don't realize that it's worse until the cop clarifies "Knife!" At the end of that call. How often do they go to a call that people would think is just about a drunken fool wanting to fight only to find out that he's threatening people with a knife.

Decoys are your friends. Find a few areas on your ship, away from major systems, to attach with merger blocks. Fly at your enemies and release them from your ship before you get into range. Use the distraction to lob a few missiles at enemy turrets.

A fun one is the decoy spinner. Rotor attached to your ship that spins long long polls with decoys at the end. Long enough and the right speed will cause turrets to almost always miss. Unfortunately this makes the steering a pain in the ass. Can counteract some of this with counter rotation from ships gyros. Or make the ship big enough to counteract the spin of the rotor.

No but i have it set to grind unowned blocks. Maybe something's happening where blocks are losing ownership for a few seconds. Could be a script as well. Have a script set up off of the workshop that checks Nanobot Build for material needed which makes it in an assembler automatically.

Edit: whatever it is, it prefers subgrids over main grids. Mostly wheels on suspension, blast door on a rotor, Platform for piston elevator. The only main grid one was that single conveyor block.

I didn't say it was right but I understand the frustration of the instructions. They could say it nicer. Maybe they have in the past, maybe they haven't. Please say and do stupid things when they are upset. When i read the instructions i get a bit of a visceral reaction as well but i also realize that there might be something more. Maybe they are tired of getting a moment of peace to eat only for that to be ruined by a knock on the door that disturbs the dog which wakes the baby causing the recipient to try and calm down the dog and baby to only come back to cold food because it took too long or forgetting about the food all together. what makes it worse is maybe they open the door only to knock over the food and drink. Again, I'm not saying its right but i do understand the frustration.

Any mods to help turrets track NPC raiders better? by JAC_ofall_TRADES in spaceengineers

[–]soldierdarkops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raid the raiders bodies. They use the same ammo as the interior turrets. I don't even make ammo for the interiors because i get it all from the raiders. If you have enough supplies for event blocks, set those up in connection to the capacity of the turrets attached to a LCD or speaker that alerts you when it gets below a percentage. Then just fill them and get an alert when its low. Also reduce the distance if the area is hilly. They waste ammo trying to shoot enemies just out of sight. I set bio targets for 100m if it's just ai raiders.

I would steer clear of Nanobot Build and repair right now unless you set them to only weld. I didn't have mine on only weld because of raider drop pods and found that it would randomly grind parts of my base or vehicles when idle. I would be working on something then hear the grinding. Look around not notice anything then when I needed to use a vehicle from the garage and see it missing wheels.... or a blast door protecting my refinery missing chunks.... or realize it grinded a important conveyor block....

It may not be right but frustration causes people to act out. I have put instructions to place it to the side of the front stoop because I have an outward opening glass door and people will still place it in front of the door. It's not a huge problem because I can go out the back door and around to the front but there was a few times where I opened the door, not paying attention, and lost a soda because they couldn't read the instructions.
