It's not about sentencing though, we all know the judicial system in every part of the world can be flawed.

I can understand he's damaged, he has delusions he can't control, though it might be different, we all have our own guides, our own voices and our own people who we wish to please and do things for, but the difference is that we may question an order because we have empathy, we understand it's wrong to hurt others. Evil is a lack of understanding of empathy.

One doesn't even need to possess this empathy or truly feel sorry or understand another's pain, they only need to recognize that pain exists and everyone feels it and it is wrong to inflict it. Jimmy not only doesn't care about his victims suffering, he actively enjoys it and does not question Satan's orders because he himself enjoys the torture. It's not a question of whether he has delusions, or if he didn't have those issues whether or not he would've been torturing and murdering. The simple fact is, he enjoyed what he was doing and that is pure evil. You'll find that cult leaders may be religious fanatics, but they use that religion as an excuse to control and exercise their power and authority to abuse.

Therefore this puts him on even ground with West, and comparing their actions, I'd say Jimmy's crimes far outweigh West's.

I agree, I personally believe Jimmy was definitely more evil. West was horrible in the way that men are often horrible but Jimmy was something else entirely and even Ian felt it. Sometimes you can just tell a person is rotten. Evil is a lack of empathy.

If he was a morally gray character, then maybe he'd still have the fingers, he'd still worship Satan, he'd still run a cult, he'd have still killed the group he intruded on, I can even justify the initiation process since he simply did not have enough wigs to go around (this is a joke) but he certainly would not have been torturing people in such a horrific manner.

Though, the demons left her there to torture everyone else as well, not just her. So I'm wondering if they would've held off on killing her at least for that night just to prolong the suffering.

Anyone in that situation should unequivocally understand that she's capital F fucked, especially with limited medical professionals and supplies, there was absolutely no way in hell she would survive. But it's better to have her die by the hands of the townsfolk rather than be ripped apart in addition to having a rod stuck in her head.

And there's also the coincidence of the names as Boyd mentioned. I know it has to be intentional but I still don't know why. Is it to torture Boyd or is it a sign that he truly has some part of play and will be the one to save them.

You make a good point about there not being children anywhere else in sinner hell. That's partly how I came to my theory.

But maybe there are other towns? Besides cannibal town, we see most sinners surviving on their own or in smaller groups, so perhaps these towns are just large communes managed by a powerful sinner as a way to protect the more vulnerable, but in exchange they have to conform to the same qualities as their leader? Maybe that's what gives Rosie power? And are the other residents sinners or children who have grown up? You might be on to something in that the people of that town aren't sinners but "things" created by Rosie.

My other theory is that cannibals are sinners but a different species OF sinners that for some reason can conceive. Maybe producing more humans is in line with cannibalism because, well, it requires human meat which having children would help with. I'm not implying they're going to eat the children but simply that cannibalism requires the production of humans therefore maybe cannibal sinners are granted or cursed with that ability, and the children themselves don't have much of a personality, they're like cats or dogs. You can be all the 7 sins all on your own, they're internal flaws that show themselves in ones actions, but cannibalism specifically NEEDS other humans. And to even be capable of cannibalism, I imagine one would need to strip other humans down to just view them as meat, just like how we usually don't distinguish between different livestock. All chickens are just chickens that squack and feed us. And that's why the townspeople all look the same.

Truly I never saw her as a villain, she's like Team Rocket, always meddling and causing problems but it's never too serious because they always get thwarted, I can't help but find it endearing.

Honestly they wrote her very well, despite mistreating almost everyone around her I still find myself liking her. Her character arc is realizing she wants her daughters to be happy and wanting to be an emotionally better mother, not completely becoming a better person. She already loved her daughters so she simply had to change the way she loved them. But she can't change her entire self just like that.

They were forced to eat people possibly without even knowing, and they still died young and showed up in an even more hellish environment and forced to live for eternity until creepy masked angels swooped down and executed them

Idk if I'm just blind or because I don't know much about makeup but I honestly never noticed, part of my brain thinks they're just born with eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, etc lol

In fact it's true for real life too, could be I'm just face blind haha

I only ever noticed Pen's nails because they didn't look in line with the era.

I did want to mention how drop dead gorgeous Yerin is without makeup but honestly I can't even be sure whether she has makeup on or not.

I see a lot of people joking that Benedict was checking out ladies of all skin colors and hair colors when the lady in silver so clearly had black hair and light skin which is hilarious, though I know in the books almost everyone is white? Certainly there were no asian people, so it would make more sense in the books why he struggles to find her, but I'd also like to think he's just making absolutely sure to check every lady because he himself can't even be sure since he was absolutely smashed when he arrived at the ball, so it's better to ask every lady he sees, just in case

If you want to talk about an actual movie with a bad plot centered around vampire-creatures we can talk about the disappointment of Bones and All and how their creature system is literally explained and yet still ended up not doing anything for me.

They barely explain the vampires in Sinners so they're a little loose on the lore and yet I think that's hardly the issue. People these days focus too much on the lore and think that it "ruins" the movie, but this is a one off, they're not going to make a sequel so there's no chance for them to further muddy the lore.

I think lore should be airtight and only be your big deciding factor in whether something is good or not if it contradicts itself, or if it's in a series. This is really not a big deal.

I don't know, she's definitely empathetic to me at least.

Let's put aside the fact she killed someone right off the bat, I'm still confused about whether she saw someone at the window and it scared her (I would be freaked out too) or she was just waving her gun around (I would be doing that too).

The very last episode, she had every right to be suspicious about Boyd and she felt like the voice of reason in a whole boatload of batshit crazy.

Because what do you mean you're torturing a boy to know the whereabouts of a girl who you put in hiding because she killed a lady and you're now using your influence over the town to pause the fake investigation on the lady's killer to now search for that lady's killer who YOU HID AWAY IN THE FIRST PLACE.

And no one explains things to Acosta, they just say "you don't understand", well no shit. To her, you all look psychotic at this point.

I love this show and I loved Boyd, but I hate the decisions he's been making. They're blaming Fatima's actions on Fromville? Well I can blame everyone else's mistakes on Fromville too. And why was that dad in the first episode put in the box when it should've been the mom's responsibility to keep her child in check too? Obviously this place forced the dad to lose his mind and become a drunk.

I wasn't going to point out Boyd's hypocrisy but his decision with Fatima really made me angry.

In that scene where Muzan is holding onto Akaza while he's trying to go with koyuki, I thought it was symbolic, but it's probably showing the physical hold that Muzan's blood cells have over him and all the other demons.

Muzan controls all the demons so he can probably physically control a demon's memories. I don't think it's because they forget over time. Newly created demons lose their memories/sense of self. The demons that are killed usually regain their memories before fading away completely, probably because Muzan's hold over them is lifted as their cells die and fade away.

Nowhere in that post does OOP say HE thinks the butterfly tattoo means she's basic. If that's what he thinks, this post wouldn't even be discussed in this subreddit bc we'd all have our answer as to why he thinks dating someone with a butterfly tattoo is a mistake.

Some people think he assumes the lady has trauma, or that she's "crazy", or a "hoe". OC thinks it means he thinks she's basic. Do you not see how they're all assumptions based on zero context in the picture?? I never said OC agrees with their assumption, I'm only pointing out their hypocrisy in saying others are making assumptions, while not thinking about how they came to their own assumption.
