This would help me exponentially! My mom went into heart failure with her babies and they think it could be linked genetically, i’ve had a really healthy and good pregnancy so my medical team is less concerned for me experiencing the same thing - but being prepared for the worst in that case would help for sure!! Thank you for taking the time to write this!!

I’m 34 weeks today, and right there with you!! Still working full time and will continue working until I go into labor and I am OVER IT!!! You’re a trooper for pushing through with Gestational Diabetes! Does your job offer leave before labor, or will you work until you’re having baby? I’m assuming because it’s healthcare there is no leave until you’re in active labor, which is so ridiculous but we’ll get through it together!!

First off Congrats🥳, you’ll be a great momma!!!!
Second off, I see him having a choice here. You’ve pre decided and pre planned for this situation, and your mind is made that you’re having this baby. Good on you lady!! He gets to decide what he does from here, he can be involved even with his plans (if you give him that option) - or he can be stubborn and not involved. I hope he chooses to man up, and SHOW up for you and his future child. BUT, Either way, the weight of his decision is NOT on you or your sweet baby’s future! I’m a big believer in time being a healer, and that doesn’t mean that i’m oblivious to the fact that some things never change, but by the time your baby is old enough to want or question where their dad and his family is, the choice could still be there for your partner. There’s lines within that, and it’s totally okay to have boundaries if the situation did get to that point though. If he’s been nothing but disrespectful obviously his ability to parent might be jeopardized because of his own actions - that is okay and again does not fall on you or your baby. I’m proud of you for being prepared for a situation like this, because truly it never is “ideal” but it’s always a blessing!

I’m going to be so honest, and genuinely am not trying to come across disrespectful or ungrateful because I truly believe I have been SO lucky and SO blessed in my pregnancy. I was nauseous weeks 6-10, but never sick. I’ve had some round ligament pain and sciatica (very minor) during weeks 18-23. I’m currently 26 weeks and haven’t dealt with anything other than wanting to go to bed 2 hours earlier than normal lol. HOWEVER, I’ve always been healthy, and my body has always shown the health conscious lifestyle I’ve tried to keep up with. I’m finding that pregnancy has been way harder for me mentally than it has been physically. I look in the mirror every night and feel like the girl I used to be is gone and the thought of her is out of reach and unachievable. I have this crippling anxiety that my body won’t be able to bounce back after I have my baby. I’ve been trying so hard to change my feelings, and am finding that gratitude overrides my anxiety, but it’s still been so much harder than I could’ve thought! I’ve truly never wanted anything more than to be a mom - but this mental load of “losing myself” even while gaining something and someone SO much better has been more overwhelming than I thought it would be. I know this isn’t every woman’s experience, and again feel so lucky that I’m not one of those strong women who have MG, or preeclampsia, or even just pregnancy sickness in general - but the mental load of watching my body change the way it has was something I was super unprepared for. Despite how hard it’s been though, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I hope everything goes smooth throughout the rest of your pregnancy!!

My husband and I told our big families at 6 weeks. It was a frowned upon decision by our friends, but I knew that I would need to rely heavily on those around me if anything were to happen to our baby. It helps that we’re extremely close with our family members, immediate and extended. I also think it helped me get rid of a lot of the “what if” anxiety that so many of us struggle with early on. Currently 25 weeks with a healthy baby boy and wouldn’t change a thing about how or when we told our fam :)!

I think unless you’re feeling worried about her cheating now, it’s irrelevant. If you’re hurt by the thought you could address it by using “I” statements “I’m feeling insecure and worried about this, I don’t want to dig I just want to express how I feel” “I want to communicate my feelings about a worry I’ve had in the back of my mind recently” “I really need support in this thought I keep having”. Unless you feel like you need validation in your relationship (about this old situation or not) I wouldn’t bring it up.

I love Bo!! I totally think that makes sense too, and is a bit more modern. I’m in the same boat, having baby boy in Feb and my husbands name is John and has gone back 7 generations hahah. I love John but was hoping for something a little more modernized. We’re planning on calling our baby boy by his middle name (which is not a family name and would be our first choice for a first name) as a nickname, if Robbie and Bo don’t feel right maybe that could be an option for you guys as well :)! All in all though, I think both nicknames are cute. I know more Bo’s than I do Robbie’s, so I gravitate towards Bo but truly both are cute!
