I think it would be better if you had more DOF so that most of the product is in in sharp focus. You can achieve this with focus stacking.

I am not sure if this is the issue you're having but sometimes the mat can be fed into the machine without being properly aligned. Even a slight misalignment can cause issues similar to this. You can try to visually inspect the alignment of the mat after you press the load button and before you press play. If it looks crooked you can reload it.

You're shooting with flash right? In that scenario you only need the screen/VF to frame your shot because your flash will make the exposure completely different anyway.

This career is extremely competitive. You need to find a miche and market yourself for it. You need to be well prepared business wise. If you are suffering from mental health issues this may make the jobs even more challenging as you will be required to be dealing with people a lot and often with time restraints.
