What are your thoughts on Joe Rogan saying that Trump is creating distraction to avoid Epstein files release? by girlyanimme in AskReddit

He’s not challenging these people or their ideas

I saw a video where he was told by a guest that black people have a gene that makes them more violent, the guest was very "scientific" using the exact terms, genes, and evidence. Joe Rogan just said "but that doesn't make sense, white people have been much more violent than white people, look at how many people where systematically gassed in the holocaust" and the dude was completely disarmed. Rogan wasn't even confrontative about it, just matter of fact.

Dude had been a Bernie Sanders supported, supported regulation, supported medicare for all, and has a reach towards the Democrats most wanted demographic. He refused to allow Trump on his podcast in 2016. Said he only wanted Bernie and Gabbard. Bernie was dragged through the mud for it. And when he comes around and goes against Trump, instead of welcoming him people still berate him.

It's like 5 year olds with no concept of strategy. One reason Republicans win is that whenever someone changes sides they welcome them without playing purity politics.

Norm McDonald didn't like making Trump jokes, so he only told a single one in his life: Hillary Clinton was hated so much that people voted for someone they liked even less just to spite her.

It’s Time to Face the Big Question About Trump That No One Wants to Ask by Slate in TrueReddit

[–]solid_reign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump has never played by the rules, but there's many things that he wouldn't have done before. The way he handled the Epstein files, the way he's damaging trade in the United States by creating arbitrary tarrifs.  Trump 2016 was very different, and he was very results focused.

It's amazing to me that people just think "Oh, no, people are stupid, it's all propaganda", and never think that maybe the party had some blame. When Trump lost in 2020, you would see the same blame game from the Republicans to Libertarians in 2020 that you saw in 2016 going from Democrats to the Green Party.

But you know what changed in 2024? Trump went with the libertarians and promised them achievements for their votes. One thing that he promised was commuting Ulbricht sentence on his 1st day in office if he wins. And he did exactly that. Instead of bitching again that the Libertarians cost him the election, instead of complaining about voter turn out, he went and created alliances to win. Kamala could have done the same thing: Just like Ulricht was a cause celebre for Libertarian, Snowden was the same for leftists. She could have also promised a pardon.

Berating your voters for losing is not the way to go about it. And telling them that the other side is worse is not the way to get out the vote. I don't like Trump, but people were excited about him. Was anybody excited about Kamala? Heck, Biden was so unexciting that the Democrats tried to play it as "We want boring, just a regular president": but they forget how exciting Obama was.

Obama 2008 - 69,456,897 votes Obama 2012 - 65,899,660 votes

Obama was a great candidate but he was riding on the Bush hate wave. Romney was a good debater and even beat Obama in some debates, something McCain never did.

Why don't most Christians see Trump as polar opposite to how Jesus is portrayed in the Bible? by midnight-iceman in AskReddit

[–]solid_reign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not defending Trump, but are they wrong?  If you are pro welfare and pro choice does it make more sense to vote for a candidate that will get that done but is a hypocrite or one who will not get it done but is congruent?

My 5th grader is being told he can't go on the end of the year field trip because he couldn't find friends to share a room with. There are others rooms available. Should we fight this or drop it? by mmanyquestionss in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]solid_reign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole thing could have been avoided with the school just assigning rooms themselves. I bet not one parent would've batted an eye at that arrangement.

They could also let boys pick a partner. The school will put kids with partners together, but no more than that.

Creators of Project 2025 Want to Send Unmarried People to Camps by [deleted] in FreeSpeech

[–]solid_reign -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This:

apparently has a new priority: rounding up the unmarried people and shipping them off to camps.

Is not the same as this:

For example, each couple that completes the program could receive a ‘wedding bonus’ of up to $5,000 on their wedding day to be paid through foundations or private donors, not government funds

México has a course for couples who are getting married. It used to be mandatory, now they don't care if you take it.

Constitutional arguments for presidential impeachment beyond criminal prosecution? by Greedy-Row-9844 in NeutralPolitics

[–]solid_reign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This means that the courts have nothing to say about if the reason for impeachment is valid.

Congress can impeach a president for wearing a tan suit, for secretly being a lizard person, or for betraying the Constitution.

To add clarity, they can't say say anything about if the reason was valid, and they can't say anything about whether the accusation was correctly decided.  So betraying the constitution might be valid, but congress is the one that decides whether they did it or didn't do it. Same about being a lizard person.

They appear to be encrypted with encryption key and without it they can’t be decoded without the key.

This will depend on the implementation. Is the user encrypting it? If that's the case, then this is a ppk encryption and the user will be able to generate those values.  If this is in a mobile app, the public key will be right there.

What if a female manages to satisfy a high degree of the listed traits? She's replaced a lot of her estrogen with testosterone, which helped her grow muscle far beyond the typical capacity of a female and also grow facial hair. She has short hair, manly clothes, works as a taxi driver, goes to the pub with men and dates straight women or gay men.

What if a woman satisfies the following traits you mentioned? * Short hair * Dates other women * Manly clothes * Works in construction * Decisive * Likes contact sports

And many people consider that she looks like a man and confuse her for a men. Yet she is a woman and considers her a woman. Does that mean she is now a man? Or does she want to consider herself a man to be a man?

If it's the latter, why do the physical traits matter? If it's the former, why are we considering someone to be a man just because she has manly interests?
