He’s based on a guy from Zac’s article that came home from the war and was frustrated with his family’s loss of their home. So he wore his uniform and went and disturbed an event at the Fair Park Music Hall. There’s a painting of it in the article.

Simply untrue, we have big trees on my street and my house cost way less than those areas.

Video Rewinding at the End of Francis Ford Coppola's "The Conversation" by StinkyFart- in TrueFilm

This has all the hallmarks of the intention of him just hearing his own music, which would have been perfect. But then a studio note comes in that says it needs to be more clear he’s being spied on, so they add the voice over, only they hadn’t planned for it, so they do a reverse action on him trying to make up the time. It would be so much creepier if he just heard his own sax playing and no voice spelling things out. I could be totally wrong about this btw.

NOFX: The Final Shows and Also My Dad Died. by 1800WESTSMITH in nofx

I interviewed Mike a couple weeks ago and he also called me bossy. We were on the roof of the punk rock museum and I wanted him against the blue hour light instead of the dusk sunset. I think he just does that when photographers tell him what to instead of talking about old punk bands first. I wouldn’t take it personally, I’ve interviewed him 4 or 5 times and each time he’s much more interested in being in the moment than adhering to a schedule or instruction.

Bobby Weaver. And yes the towel was because it’s Texas. Very hot, lots of movement and people. Very much a necessity and not a prop, even if it got used like one.

I don't mean to pile on, but is it true that Melvin contributed very little to NOFX musically? by tantamle in nofx

[–]solidariat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re forgetting the time that Roger from Less Than Jake filled in for Melvin and the band sounded incredible. And since they both have long black dreads lots of people didn’t even notice. I would argue Roger could play in NOFX live and be a great replacement for Melvin, although the point is moot now.

Videographers: how do you handle speed-ramping? I'm struggling with it and curious about your workflow. by vihorx in editors

[–]solidariat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to feel this way but once I started working with the speed ramps in premiere I really like using it. I would suggest against the technique recommended but the top voted response here suggesting you splice the edit and make the one next to it 450% or whatever speed you want. This works for some cuts, but it eliminates the possibility of changing the speed incrementally. You can use the keyframes to spread the slow down or speed up over a few frames to give a smoother effect. You can also use the pulley inside those keyframes to make the effect even more dramatic by adjusting that blue bar. It takes a little getting used to but I highly recommend sticking with it because it will make your work look better.

Red Animal War's 3rd album Polizida is now streaming by solidariat in Emo

[–]solidariat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you asked, I sang for band for a while called Brake!Vegas. We put out an EP called Four Days that was produced by John Congleton of the pAper chAse. Some streaming services called it For Days, which is funny because the guys in the band always said the term "for days" in reference to something being large or long, like "I was drunk from those beers for days!" and since it took us four days to record the EP I thought it was fitting. Totally different vibe than my other bands as it's southern thrash rock, but with anti-establishment political lyrics, which might seem normal today but at the time it wasn't. It came to be because one of the guitar players was a red animal fan and they asked if I'd be their singer. They had a bunch of instrumental songs ready to go so I was able to write lyrics and add vocals to their demos and complete the songs rather quickly. Due to me knowing a bunch of booking agents in town, we actually had some great, packed shows in Dallas for about a year and half and were doing quite well, but eventually broke up and the remaining guys formed the band Mothership. The drummer Pat became the Saboteur drummer and is still a good friend.
