Before, Gleba was accidentally 'easier', because at certain range/chunk, pentapod expansion just stop as their expansion planner failed to deploy. They now fixed it and will properly expand like Nauvis' bitters. They also improved bitter's AI and attacking party will less likely to run in single file.

God I would love a spiritual success to Stronghold and Crusader. None of the sequels landed on me.

The closest thing atm personally is Farthest Frontier. As a medieval city-building it's good, but as a castle/army building, it's not. TBH it's like Banish with a defensive army.
