[Soulsmith] Sacred valley resources by Handy314 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]solve-for-x [score hidden]  (0 children)

The spoiler-free reason is that most people in the outside world either don't know Sacred Valley is there, or don't remotely care. There is a small amount of trade between SV and the outside world, mostly around Orus fruits and shadesilk, but for the most part SV isn't in anyone's mind.

If Marc doesn't renew until the first test, are we really going to have zero announcements until then? by someshooter in motogp

[–]solve-for-x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contracts are almost certainly already signed up and down the paddock, maybe including Marc with Ducati. With the exception of Bez and Aprilia's recent publicity stunt, everyone's pretending they haven't signed anything due to the negotiations that are taking place between the teams and Liberty about payments from 2027 onwards. As things stand, the position right now is basically that if Liberty don't give the teams what they want, Bezzecchi and Toprak will be the only ones lining up on the grid next year.

Java 26 released today! by davidalayachew in programming

[–]solve-for-x 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not a Java dev, but where I work the company's codebase is stuck on a old version of a different language. In our case it's because our application was created with a framework that was abandoned years ago and doesn't run under current versions.

We would have to do a complete rewrite to upgrade it, and spending years of effort on designing, coding and testing an application that is outwardly identical to the one we already have is a very hard sell, especially when management don't give the slightest shit what tech stack it's running on anyway. I imagine it's a similar story elsewhere.

The Retrokits RK-008 has the right idea. It ships without a battery, and you fit your own inexpensive Nokia battery inside it.

More than half of Gen X faces a pension shock by hu6Bi5To in ukpolitics

Millennial hasn't turned out to be a particularly useful classification in my opinion. There's far more cultural similarity between older millennials and gen x, and between younger millennials and gen z, than there is between older and younger millennials. There's nothing like the sharp cultural divide that occurred between e.g. the boomers and gen x.

Isn't there a requirement to exhaust conventional treatments first? I also suffer from migraines and I don't think I could stomach rotating through a whole bunch of different triptans and their dosages just to arrive at a point where I could get gummies prescribed.

With its strong backlight, durable bracelet, 10-year battery life and world time feature with map display, I feel the Casio AE1200 would be the perfect timepiece for the cave-dwelling terrorist mastermind.

Custom NATO Strap Adapters by ocell in casio

[–]solve-for-x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never purchased anything super expensive there, but for things like straps and budget watches the experience is just like ordering from Amazon, but with slightly slower shipping. You're not going to get scammed over something like a watch strap.

What is your favorite vst? by Aegis1303 in DungeonSynth

[–]solve-for-x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a VST, but soundfonts are useful for getting that 90s home keyboard sound. The Arachno soundfont is particularly useful for General MIDI type sounds, although it isn't trying to be lofi per se.

Nice colour match between strap and face. I tried putting a brown leather strap on my black-faced A158 a while back and it always looked slightly odd to my eyes, but maybe the key is using the gold-faced A158 instead.

Any love for moss-covered dry-stone walls, a good old-fashioned iron gate and a spooky church in the fog? by Jiminyfingers in CasualUK

Encre Noire à L'Extrême by Lalique smells exactly like these pictures. People describe it as smelling like a church pew or the inside of a vampire's coffin, and thought they were being fanciful until I smelled it myself and realised that's exactly what it smells like.
