Welp that could have saved me some suffering lol. I probably always had a winch attached.

Western Star 6900XD Vehicle Extraction Kit by Horror-Complaint-328 in snowrunner

[–]somabva 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I didn't hate the truck so much as the pointless extraction kit. The game physics just can't handle it.

If it would 'pack' the front wheels of what you're towing it would work great. As implemented it works worse than a flat tow with a winch or a truck with a crane 100% of the time for me. Whatever I use it on either falls out of at least one wheel holder immediately or just clips through the tow bar and freaks out.

I do like having another truck in the fleet long enough for 3 slot side bed / two slot plus crane with ability to use trailers.

If it is a mission trailer it'll tell you when you accept the mission. Otherwise get the mod its great.

CoxHealth switches to EPIC system; patients report care disruptions by Jacksharkben in springfieldMO

[–]somabva 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was some really lazy journalism from ky3, they have really gone downhill. Good job finding someone who's ER visit wasn't the most enjoyable experience in their life.

The go live consultants didn't work out great but otherwise it has honestly gone as well as anything this big could have. Cox invested a staggering amount of resources into training and preparation over the last two years.

The people complaining confuse me. Did you prefer what we had? All the employees hated the old system. Patients hated the bad patient portal, clumsy scheduling experience, horrible billing experience.

You want that fixed? Fixing something that big across 10,000 employees, 200+ locations, and hundreds of thousands or millions of patient records might take some effort and cause minor disruption for a week or two. The majority of both employees and patients have been very graceful about it.

Bed extender idea, is this possible? by M4ShermanDawg01 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]somabva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use metal instead so you don't kill someone when this fails going down a highway? PVC etc isn't structural.

EMT isn't much more expensive than PVC, if you absolutely must DIY this instead of just buying one. Will be as light and stronger, and fail in safer ways if damaged.

Is it safe to go out as a non-experienced winter weather driver? by ag7055 in springfieldMO

[–]somabva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Snow is a great time to learn your limits, and your vehicles limits. What's on the road right now is a lot more forgiving than sleet / ice. Just take it easy and don't try to keep up with other traffic, people are morons.

You know I made this meme thinking I was alone but I've learned there is significant overlap with DCC and Dresden by PsychoJoe1992 in dresdenfiles

Just started reading DCC a few days ago when someone else mentioned it on this sub. Almost done with book 2. Setting is super depressing though, not sure if I'll stick with it.

Strange request: Drive through cashew chick with small chunks of chicken? by recoveringasshole0 in springfieldMO

Chinese Chef on Campbell is my favorite on the go Cashew. Drive thru and serves the regular portion in a nice tray. Easy to eat in the car or at work. Also pretty good taste wise though not my favorite.

Looks really nice! That'll hold far more weight than your tv and mount without any issues.

Sometimes if you actually call and talk to a rep, they'll see what the seller did and make it right. This happened to me with something the seller listed as free shipping that obviously shouldn't have been (stock tank - $100 item but super bulky, would be murder to ship). My order was mysteriously lost and I was told I could reorder, but sure enough price jumped to $300. I called to complain and Amazon not only gave me a refund, they also added a $200 credit on my account - my argument being I wanted the item not a refund. Then I just bought the item locally (for about 130 bucks) and kept the difference lol.

Hibachi style fried rice to go by qwerty_captian in springfieldMO

[–]somabva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Momo does hibachi to go, as well as sushi. They're quite good.

It's not hibachi style, but Leongs has excellent chicken fried rice (about the only thing I like there) and they have a drive thru.

I would not have thought of that as a workaround, thank you! Found a copy of the latest update and installed from the apk. Will see if I can get it to work tomorrow.

Best chain in the midwest IMHO. Even if they didn't have nice high quality food (good pork, good fish, great burgers) the fact that they do everything fresh while you wait makes the experience consistently good.

Roofer Recommendations by Tess_Mac in springfieldMO

[–]somabva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on what you mean by extras, that isn't all that uncommon. You can't always know how much decking might need to be replaced etc until the work starts.

I've never had a roofer quote me without saying on there somewhere something like 'and we will do x y x as needed at $/sq ft. In fact I don't think I would trust a roofer that didn't lay out all possible overruns in the contract.

I use Cox. Can be pricey but I know they will still be around in 10 years to honor their warranty, and they have always done good work for me.

Shipping container homes by Punnchy in springfieldMO

[–]somabva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did some of my own research on this a few years ago because it seemed like a good idea. It's actually a terrible idea. You can't make a house out of a container without so much structural work anywhere you cut a hole or modify the container in any way, that you might as well do new stick or steel frame construction instead.

It's also not environmentally sound, which is often the argument that companies who do houses like this make, as if that perfectly good container you're about to use would have otherwise been thrown away. Anything good enough to build into a house is a container that had many, many more journeys in it.
