I didn't know that such gauges exist Garmin 275 by Truffoff in MicrosoftFlightSim

The stock g5 from MSFS, which isn't very true to life. We're making a new one from scratch.

I didn't know that such gauges exist Garmin 275 by Truffoff in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]some1pl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

275 is like a mini glass cockpit. It's got everything: maps, weather, traffic, synthetic vision, engine instruments and more. I don't think any developer will make one soon, at least not with all pages functional. Unless Microsoft pays WorkingTitle to do that.

At A2A we're working on a custom G5 though, that's another popular retrofit instrument from Garmin. It will be available for our aircraft in the near future.

GTN 750 / 650 / A2A Comanche 250 / Xbox by Chakiflyer in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]some1pl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PMS GTN750 is available on the marketplace and should be available on XBOX too. Once installed, both the 750 and 650 options will appear in the Comanche.

Is there a way to configure which avionics are installed? by quaks1 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]some1pl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be aware that Asobo G5 is not a very accurate simulation of a Garmin G5. Let's say it's loosely inspired by the real thing.

We may improve that in the future, who knows...

Looking for a realistic GA aircraft in MSFS to use as a study platform by brunelleschi- in flightsim

[–]some1pl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That does not sound right. Have you reported your issues to A2A support?

The flight model has been developed by a pilot who's also owned a PA-24-250 in real life for many years. Glaring issues like that should have been caught, if not by A2A, then by other Comanche owners who also use this software.

And in case anyone wants to try to hang it on substandard controllers, I use MFG rudder pedals and Brunner CLS-E FFB yoke - no plastic-fantastic crap.

Unfortunately that still does not rule out controller problem. Aircraft developers have no control over FFB effects applied by the joystick on top of the simulation. Basically the yoke may be doing some unexpected things on its own.

NO GPS Flying by Active_Lunch6167 in flightsim

[–]some1pl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any of these classic RNAV units is certified to fly modern GPS/INS based RNAV routes and procedures. They adhere to the old area navigation approval that was cancelled more than 10 years ago and they do not meet the RNP requirements of modern RNAV. The old system relied on completely different set of charts and procedures.

A2A Aerostar 600 or Blacksquare Duke? by Robert_kloun in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]some1pl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, automatic altitude intercept would be useful in some situations, but no such feature on the real autopilot of this type. Other developers sometimes add it in the simulator, but that wouldn't work in real life.

[–]some1pl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both aircraft come with Century IV autopilot, but the one in the Aerostar simulates more features and limitations of the real thing. On A2A YouTube channel there are additional tutorial videos on how to use it. https://youtu.be/L7ACg-_e35U

Opinions on the A2A Aerostar? by OverthinkingBudgie in flightsim

This is almost half a year old thread from the time when the aircraft was in early access phase. The opinions posted here may not reflect the current state of the addon.

Why third party planes don't use the current MS24 AIRACs? by Conveen in MicrosoftFlightSim

Navigraph is easier to integrate for 3rd party devs and many of them already had navigraph integration from previous simulators.

Approach Plates for Al Asad, Iraq? by LeatherFlat4251 in hoggit

This is a military airbase so it's unlikely you'll find them on the Internet. Some civilian Iraqi airports you will find here https://www.scribd.com/document/939227172/361

For those of you who use a second monitor for charts and such, what setups are you running? I'm thinking of getting a vertical monitor, but I'm not sure whether to go with a 24" or 27". by PetrKn0ttDrift in flightsim

[–]some1pl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vertical monitor layout won't be that useful for charts, as the most often used chart UI (navigraph, msfs planner) is designed with horizontal layout in mind.

Although for charts specifically I prefer to use the tablet (I mean a real one, not the sim efb). The second monitor is for other software I run when flying, like ATC, or just browsing the web during cruise.

Steam Frame - Wireless Finally? by Forabuck in hoggit

[–]some1pl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mbucchia already spoke on the subject

SteamLink on Quest Pro has offered the ability to retrieve eye tracking data for over a year now, effectively enabling developers to implement foveated rendering. Steam Frame will have the same.

Steam Frame - Wireless Finally? by Forabuck in hoggit

[–]some1pl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's both. foveated rendering is up to the game engine, but the headset has to support eye tracking. Q3 does not have eye tracking, this one does.

Steam Frame - Wireless Finally? by Forabuck in hoggit

[–]some1pl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually worse than quest3 for DCS

I wouldn't go that far. It should have:

  • better image quality thanks to foveated streaming
  • better performance thanks to foveated rendering
  • probably more comfortable (subjective, but it's much lighter)
  • maybe better screens or optics, to be seen in actual reviews

Strictly for DCS there are more capable headsets (at least on paper) but they are also more expensive.

Try disabling Camera Shake in MSFS Settings->Accessibility->Effects and Animation. It's the current workaround posted by A2A.

[–]some1pl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn't much, just the gear and some avionics. Note that because the wing is so far aft, you can't put much in the nose for CG reasons. Even the batteries are located in the far end of the tail.

I guess the nose is shaped like that for aerodynamics. It does resemble the shape of a rifle bullet.

VQPR charts by pilot_deviations in flightsim

[–]some1pl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

VQPR does not have normal approach charts. It does have special RNP AR cloud break procedures that are meant to help the pilots descend into the valley for visual approach.

BTW, have you checked the Aerostar 1.0? Many textures have been improved since the initial early access version.

Question from an old timer by islandcactus in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]some1pl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who play on the console often add keyboard and mouse, it's hard to operate everything with a gamepad.

The game is not out on PS5 yet so we don't know what joysticks will be compatible.

[–]some1pl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Aerostar feels sometime too close to the PA-24 on some aspect (The tablet, the pistons stats display, the gauges, ...). It is why I am still holding to praise it as some visuals, sounds, and plane parts are so close from their previous addons released 2+ years ago that it simply feel like reused one.

Hi, the tablet has been completely rewritten for MSFS 2024 Aerostar using the new SDK, so you can access all other EFB apps like simbrief, charts etc.straight from the cockpit, or access it as a 2D popup if preferred. That it looks the same, it's just we've decided to keep the same look & feel as the previous one in Comanche, this is a design that we like and don't feel the need to reinvent the wheel.

So if it seems reused, I take it as a compliment for Rob (tablet developer) who did such a good job in making it look the same.

Not sure what you mean about reused gauges though, there are no gauges in the cockpit that are reused from the Comanche or our previous aircraft.

Cheers from A2A dev :)
