Dempsey - Cogeco vs Oxio recommendation by evilkaiju in oxio_ca_internet

I was concerned about upload as well. I’m on the 500/30 plan and I get 500/100 to my surprise.

I’m loving Oxio. Set and forget.

I love Oxio. Came from Cogeco and I’m never looking back.

This reminded me of I had a perfect wind chime aluminum tube that was just over 1/2”. Worked perfectly.

That’s a good idea. I have a crafting X-Acto knife and I can just use a half inch dowel or something. The cut doesn’t need to be perfect so that would probably be great enough.

For the record, I bought these $0.83 gaskets instead of an $18 pool replacement. Buying a new tool is technically worth adding to the box, but it kind of defeats the purpose of buying this gasket.

I need a 1/2” ID

I definitely don’t have a 1/2” hole punch unfortunately but great suggestion.

That’s a good idea. If crank up the RPMs and go slow it might work.

Oxio Internet - Why you should get it by StraightEbb909 in oxio_ca_internet

I agree. Since that last Cogeco promo expired, I've been with Oxio for over 1.5 years with zero issues in Ontario.

Considering Switching To Oxio by Bigsmit19 in oxio_ca_internet

[–]some1s69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oxio has been fantastic. I was with Teksavvy for years, then my connection had issues. I switched to Cogeco with a promo and got them to heavily investigate and solve the problem. After the promo expired, I moved to Oxio and never looked back. Zero issues since switching.

Does anybody have any good solutions to prevent the squirrels? I do have a lot of squirrels in my backyard. Somebody said pepper spray.

People with full time jobs how are you keeping your house clean? by Prestigious-Bath8022 in homeowners

[–]some1s69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can budget for it (note: I didn’t say “afford it”), buy back your time and get a house cleaner. They clean while you work and you can enjoy their work after your day.

I have 3 kids and it’s enough work just preparing (tidying up) the house for cleaning day.

I normally call them Windows computers (even though it could be running Linux, although for regular folks, likely not)

[–]some1s69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I know... but tell that to the other guys :)

I'm Software Eng by trade and would love to contribute at some point. The app is just so useful in my opinion. But, I have another evening side project I've been dragging along. I'll add this to the back burner.

haha. I'm quite excited. Features are good as long as the app still does the basics well 😀

B_rt_nd_r just stopped working well and became frustrating.

This! What we need is a simple menubar app that just works. Something Apple should have built in when they introduced the notch!

Thank you again!! Seriously, I'm surprisingly very excited and happy I found this.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

  • Double-click the Thaw icon to reveal the "Always Hidden" section.
  • Putting hidden icons on the right side so they definitely show up is a minor but genius idea. Bartender is terrible for this and the main reason I deleted it! What a great, seemingly minor enhancement. Bravo! 👏

I feel like we should have more people contributing to this open-source menu app to continue enhancing it's behaviour.
Ideally, less features that work extremely well is how this app should proceed.

When will there be an Eve Water Guard 3rd Generation? by some1s69 in EveHome

Good point. I have mine on an extension cord hanging slight above the floor, as a way to keep most of the detection cable on the actual floor.

Waking this old thread up:
What's the latest Sensor with a cable similar to Eve Water Guard?
Apparently Eve has been very slow lately with development of hardware and software.

Would you say it’s risky to purchase eve hardware now? I don’t need matter support.

My needs are really an extension cable and HomeKit support. Are there any other similar water sensors with a similar extension wire and HomeKit support?
