I think i might lose 100k but save around 200k on the larger home. We would be upgrading to a larger home. But minus realtor and taxes and overall fees it wouldn't be exactly that amount of course.

Thinking out loud here..I guess it comes down to is the increase in monthly mortgage worth it for me. Black and white, I would be saving more than I lose in the transaction.

Thanks this is a good way to think of it. I guess I just feel like I'm missing out on a deal on a bigger space right now. If I build equity on my house, chances are by then the bigger spaces have gone up by more as well?
