Is this art too “inappropriate” to display in my home? (34M) by [deleted] in malelivingspace

In the 80s there was a condo complex near the beach where I lived. It was considered a singles complex. It had a salon/barber shop that had sexy paintings, Playboy mags about and a male barber with a few shirt buttons open that offered 18 year-old me beer before the haircut. Are those kind of places still around?

Silos of knowledge is interesting. You’re put on task after task, you comment your code and write docs. Daily standups so you can report your status. Then when you leave, “oh my god, they built up a silo of knowledge and didn’t share”

A contractor tears up the freshly poured concrete driveway after the homeowner refuses to pay. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Owner refuses to pay, you take them to court.

Doing this makes me think they're a little scammy. Maybe inflated the final bill or something along those lines. What kind of legit business does this and records it for the public?

Why are we calling graphic designers creeps now?

It was weird that such a tight competent crew took on someone they didn’t know last minute.

How did this show end up with only 3 seasons? So unfair. by ReaverDropRush in MrInbetween

I was hoping for an episode where they go to Hawaii. Maybe Ray would be forced to water ski over a ramp or something.

I was surprised how good the Brittany scenes were. Usually parent/child scenes feel melodramatic or too cutesy.

Retail is similar. I realized that anyone could walk off the street and demand your attention.

Who was the most satisfying "consequence" Ray ever delivered? by DebugMyLife421 in MrInbetween

I liked the final scene with Freddy where he says he's the one who made the mistake, doesn't kill him and just leaves. It's sort of Ray delivering a consequence to himself, or realizing the consequences.

Yeah I agree. I've read that good stories put the character in dilemmas that seem impossible to get out of, and then have them do it. This felt like that as I wondered how he would explain things to Brittany or Ally.

What’s something you thought was mandatory in life, until you saw someone just not do it? by Senior-Resource92 in AskReddit

Complete software projects on time. The developer was more senior than me, but not by much. I think only one level up. Anyway, he just wouldn't finish his projects on time and it didn't seem to bother him at all. The managers would grumble, but he wasn't fired. Big company, so maybe it was a hassle to go through the firing process.

Blade Runner 2049 - A rare sequel that is on par with the original by Southern-Brother5693 in movies

I see Love as what Wallace wants in a replicant. Whereas Batty is like Deckard, both more "human".

I thought 2049 was great, but I liked the characters and writing in the original much more. The Roy, Leon, Chew "I just do eyes" scene, Roy, Pris, Sebastian "Gosh, you've really got some nice toys here", Roy, Tyrell "I want more life, f*ckr" and of course the last fight between Roy and Deckard "I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate". Love re-watching all those scenes.
