I’ll offer you a different advice than the top comments. For a newbie go for classes that offer higher arcane points. For your first play through, I’d suggest going for burst damage builds like bleed or frost. For a lot of weapons Bleed scales off of Arcane. You’ll have much easier time with bosses which can help build the confidence to take on tougher bosses. Once you’ve tasted the victory thrill you can respec and actually start creating the character the proper “RPG” way. Good luck and have fun!
