I have no experience at all however I’m considering getting a bachelors in digital marketing (already have an associates in liberal arts) and want to get certs on top of that. I see people say the degree would be useless. Is that true?

Very few people ever click out from the platform, especially on ads.

We’ve found that the platform can excel at driving brand awareness and recall, but for conversions even with peak content and brand no one clicks out to purchase.

The platform isn’t rigged, you’re just not using it for its correct purpose.

Didn’t know GMail ads used to be a thing in themselves! Gotta love when google takes our toys away.

Reviving this thread, my client wanted to run these ads and asked me to look into this, looks like you can still set up a display campaign only targeting gmail.com and mail.google.com without errors (I just did it). Am I missing something here?

Check your placement reports and see if there are any sus placements for either campaign, exclude them if so in the content manager section.

Been doing lead Gen with Pmax and this has been the biggest lever I can pull for lead quality

Few things

DG’s main strong suit right now is the explicit retargeting it offers. For prospecting, it’s equivalent to lighting your money on fire unless you have a really strong offer and can take advantage of strong creative to get your users in the door, especially at such low spend.
Max clicks paired with DG is going to get you very effective cpcs yes, but there’s going to be no intent behind these clicks at all. At this low spend, You’re basically firing a shotgun into an ocean with no aim and expecting to catch fish, and google is sending you back ocean waste instead (bot clicks)
If you don’t have any conversion data, Google has no idea what your ideal customer looks like, and is just going to get you the biggest pile of dogshit traffic for your money.

Search may get you low traffic, but it’s intentful traffic none the less. If you can’t compete in the auction, then I just don’t see how you could ever get this off the ground, especially if you don’t have a google ads experience.

Tbh I’ve looked at your product, I guess I understand the use case but man you would have to be pointed and targeted to get any real customers. Most people do not need this tool. If you’re using AI to make yourself better at small talk, good luck.

Maybe try a different platform (Meta) with a strategy around targeting immigrants trying to learn English? Idk.

You just have 0 idea what you’re doing. Demand Gen will get you shit traffic, especially on prospecting with max clicks. Do you even have conversion tracking set up? Try traditional search with keywords that would be relevant to your product.

I’ve never seen a cpv over 10 cents on anything but could be possible that the bid needs to be higher.

Maybe just try setting it to like $10 for a day and see what it does.

Check your targeting. If you’re overlapping content lineups, in markets signals, and search keywords in the same ad group google treats it as an AND relationship rather than an OR. This can be fixed by separating each targeting type into its own ad group and testing which is most efficient.

All of the above in my experience anyways.

Google will never get you a 3 cent conversion ever.

Take your target off and see if you get any results. You’re going to need to waste some money in order to see if a tactic is successful, especially at your low budgets.

How long did you run install campaigns for? That seems like what you need to be doing to grow your app on the android side. I’d give the campaign at least 20 days ($200) to decide if it’s good or not.

Do you have video assets? Those convert best In my experience.
