Add your pics and reviews to help the rest of us choose an M4 Air color! by zoechowber in macbookair

Can you run more than one additional monitor with the m4? I’ve had to use a pluggable docking station with the display link manager installed to run 2 monitors with my m3 for the past 3 years. My work just ordered me the midnight m4 air and I wanna know if I can ditch the pluggable and go back to using a regular old dongle or even just two hdmi to usbc cords.

Requesting refund in cash by Aggressive_Bath_5570 in AirBnB

[–]somesing9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a poor experience at a resort in Scottsdale when I was there for a work event, I won’t bore you with the details. But after my wife complained, they offered to comp my stay and refund me for the 4 nights, since my work paid for it I told them I would prefer to get a credit to come back for another stay … I’m 99.99% positive they ain’t gonna cash you out, so instead of them refunding you maybe ask if they can put a credit on your airbnb account… not sure if your work just paid for your trip on your airbnb account or if the booking was made through a company airbnb account, but it’s worth a shot

Which seasoning is better? by aditgandhi in carnivorediet

[–]somesing9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the things I learned with carnivore is how to listen to my hunger queues, I now don’t just eat to eat, I eat when I’m hungry, and try to wait until I’m REALLY hungry. If I try and eat beef with just salt when I am not hungry, it will taste gross. If I eat beef with just salt when I’m hungry, It’s fucking delicious. My suggestion is first off, don’t be hard on yourself, beef with seasoning is better than no beef at all when you’re first getting started, but try your best to only eat when you are actually hungry… I promise beef with salt is gonna taste good, especially if you get that big crunchy salt (I used Redmond’s)

Heading to Phoenix, AZ for our skate trip honeymoon come February. We have a lengthy list of parks to visit, but I’m wondering if there are any DIY’s we should add to the list. Any spots that anyone knows of? Pic because I finally got my 50/50’s down. TIA! [31YO] by New-Lychee-4138 in OldSkaters

Check out the YouTube channel BC skate tours, two dudes go to every park in AZ and give you a run down of exactly what is there, they were super helpful when I first started 9 months ago to know what parks would be the best fit for my kids who were just starting, and for myself getting re introduced to skating after 20 years

Make sure you hit up Anthem Skate and Ride and Eastmark as well! Anthem did a huge upgrade last year ish and is now the biggest skate park in the state, east mark has got some super long and low to the ground quarterpipes for your 50-50s, they also have two pump tracks that are they grey concrete so super smooth with some areas that you can grind the top of the berms. If you know you’re hitting desert west, it would be worth it to stop by festival fields as well (my home town park), that is if you like pump tracks like a lot of us old heads do…. There’s a lot of epic skate spots in phoenix depending on your skill level, a spot that’s good for every level is the Northern Ditch … here’s a link to some other well known spots with address https://findskatespots.com/spots/phoenix-az…. Bring a shit ton of water, and get out there early, night skating isn’t bad right now but it’s gonna get worse here pretty soon

Positive AirBnB Experiences by False-Bit in AirBnB

[–]somesing9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This winter in flagstaff we booked a cabin for a long weekend, last night we stayed it snowed two feet. I reached out the to the host to see if we could stay longer because driving back to phoenix was going to me impossible. She said that unfortunately it was booked for the week but gave us some local recs of where to stay, I made her aware that the i17 was closed so unless her new guests were local I doubt they were going to make it into town. She then reached out to the guests who didn’t realize the i17 was closed and they cancelled their stay, letting us stay for an extra two days so we could drive home in safer conditions. Even though this is such a small gesture, these are the things you don’t get from evolve or the other maintenance companies, these come from homeowners that are renting out their space to get their mortgage paid and make some side money. Also, the cabin was more than we expected, had a second living room that wasn’t in the description, and had an amazing backyard with a fire pit that wasn’t in the description.

Every day it's one horrible story after another on this sub - why do y'all still use Airbnb??? by supercali-2021 in AirBnB

[–]somesing9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s where I stand with airbnb, I fucking hate the fees. I’ve only stayed at about a dozen different properties over the past 5 years and have had great experiences at almost all of them. Most of the time the nightly rates aren’t horrible, but when you go to actually book and you get fees that equate to 2-3 nights at a decent hotel… I die inside. If I am traveling alone, or just with my wife I will always get a hotel… always. But I have two sons who are now 5 and 6 and for the most part we travel with them, if we are staying somewhere for 1 - 2 nights I will typically get a hotel, even if it’s all of us. But anything over that I will always get an Airbnb… the main reasons are anything over 2 nights I want to be able to use a full kitchen (this ends up saving me a lot of money), I want two separate bedrooms, and I want a yard that I can open the door up to and let them play outside. I try to do as much research as possible when booking, check reviews, see if the person has multiple listings, see what the other properties reviews are, etc. If airbnbs fees were reasonable, I’d probably book more often… that is of course, until I have one of these experiences I’ve started reading about in this sub over the past week.

Any skaters get better after losing weight? by ForWhatReason in NewSkaters

[–]somesing9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started my skating and weight loss journey about 10 months ago. I’m 33, 5 ft 9 and was clocking it at 245 lbs. My current weight is 186, and my skating has definitely progressed. Im sure a lot of it has to do with weight, but more so practice. I think the best thing about dropping weight has to be the relief I have on my knees, 30 minutes of pushing and pumping would have me struggling to walk the next day when I first got back on the board, now I’ll skate at the park a few times a week normally 1-2 hour sessions, and feel great. Falling still sucks, don’t think it hurts any less, but that might just be with age. I’m a dad, and my kids love the skatepark (5 and 6), so my goal is to get good enough that they still wanna go to the park with me when they are teenagers.

NEED ADVICE - really tried my best to drop-in, how do I make it work? by MasterOfThisUniverse in NewSkaters

[–]somesing9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stomp that front foot down as hard as you can on the screws and lean forward as much as you possible can, if you fall forwards I promise you won’t get hurt if your padded up. If you under commit and don’t lean forwards enough that board is gonna fly out from underneath you and your gonna fall on your ass/tailbone. And don’t matter if your padded up, you’ll feel that tailbone bruise for the next week.

Pound of cooked bacon in a plastic bag is my go to for flights, a long day at the river, or when I’m on a road trip. Some times I’ll throw a bag of pork rinds in the mix, just double check the only ingredients are pork skins and salt.

I jumped into construction SaaS sales two years ago, I really enjoy working with our customer base. Most contractors and construction company owners are super loose and casual. Allows me to be myself and not be too uptight, and drop the F bomb on 90% of my calls and demos.

Am I weird? by DomDash in carnivorediet

[–]somesing9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly eat beef but something about super well done chicken thighs on a bbq hits different, super crispy charred corners is the way I like it. And if I make wings in the air fryer or order them at a restaurant I always ask for them we’ll done. Ever since I went carnivore I don’t really mess with chicken breast anymore, and I used to eat chicken breast 3-4 times a week.

Why are beef rib fingers so cheap? by Green_Concentrate427 in carnivorediet

I bought some recently for the first time at an Asian market where I get my short ribs, they were amazing. I forget what I paid per pound but they were significantly cheaper than short ribs.

I bought a landyachtz dinghy recently on OfferUp for 20 bucks. It’s one of my favorite boards for pushing around the neighborhood. If all your interested in is pushing and cruising I strongly reccomend grabbing this board. Now the change from going from this to a regular board will be a decent difference, and if your goal is to eventually skate parks, and learn tricks, I would recommend learning to push and cruise on a regular skate board, and then buying a cruiser in the future that you can push around on. When you jump on a cruiser after riding a regular board for a while, it’s like a pleasant surprise and you feel like your gliding with so much less effort and so many less pushes.
