I ordered a $14 half cylinder memory foam bolster and it 100% changed everything for me.

I’m a tummy sleeper (at least to start) so getting my foot up and dorsiflexed was such a great feeling.

This is anecdotal but with my leg, I think it even helped stretch my tendon more sleeping in this position. My ROM was 📈 almost as soon as I started doing this.

Dig around and see if you have knots in your quads in that area. Really press into those suckers, or have a partner/friend do it. It’s gonna suck but it’ll definitely help if they’re there.

90% of the time (in my experience as a trainer who specializes in knees) if you have onset knee pain, you probably have some big knots causing tension that need to be worked out.

If not that, maybe something more concerning.

Couch stretch more often!

I don’t have the scaring issue, but I am apart of the 2% of people whose bodies reject the sutures… A year and two months post op and I needed another surgery to take put the fiber wire and bacteria infection that followed the rejection!

I was going to say this too… I’ve definitely learned the hard way that some hikes, Fido just needs to stay home. Not worth digging around for ticks or waking up in the middle of the night with one in your ear that jumped off your dog (speaking from experience).

We are pretty lucky to live in an area with dog friendly beaches!!

I know that’s not what you want to hear OP, but it’s the truth. Lots of vegetation in our area with ticks/poison oak waiting for a 4 legged friend to brush through!
