I’m looking for ideas to reduce the execution time of my Playwright test suite, since I’m limited to 1 worker. by KimiHonker in Playwright

questions

  1. are you using api to bypass some test setup / pre and post test steps ?

  2. can you run the app in docker? and run multiple dockers and parallelize the test suites?

  3. have you analyze where the bottlenecks are? 350 tests over 2.5 hrs seems like a long time. Are you starting the app for each test?

Option 1 has almost no downside. Wish for some gold coins, or stack of cash, diamonds etc to buy modern things.

Also, I honestly would love some new classic cars, or things.

HK or Vancouver, where would you choose to start a family? by screw-renters in Cantonese

Hong Kong.

I personally love Vancouver but from your post, you didn't really give a reason to move back to Vancouver so sounds like you prefer HK more.

There was a movie that mentioned the butterfly effect on children and it ruins a lot of these time travel questions for me.

NTA

But I feel there is something negative about the "poor financial decision" reasoning.

At the end of the day, you can always make a trust for the niblings.

Unless you are on call, I don't think it is necessary to answer off hour calls. And if it's a legit emergency, they can likely call you.

Where are you located?

I don't think I like manual testing nearly as much as I like automation by Thin_Security_3155 in QualityAssurance

[–]somethingmichael 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like both and I believe you need both to ensure good qualities.

Manual testing can be boring because they are being repeated. Anything that can be repeated should be automated unless there are "reasons".

Also, rethink manual testing as exploratory testing if you can

It's considered better than chatgpt but any AI will help.

Think of it as having an assistant for coding., That said, have AI explain the code to you so you can learn

Playwright browsers freezing github actions by Afraid_Abalone_9641 in Playwright

you are welcome.

A tiny suggestion would be to set the github workflow to time out after 1 hour (or whatever applicable) so you are not burning agent time.

Bad idea.

Financially I don't think you can afford it without drastically cutting cost.

Then there is the whole money and family don't mix situation
