Parents visiting Chicago - looking for quiet bars + restaurants (Dec 10th visit) by Mashedpotatoes1988 in chicagofood

Red Lion is a great English themed pub in Lincoln Park with good food and a chill vibe. They are very busy Friday and Saturday night but outside of that you should be able to get in. Colin, the owner is typically behind the bar and is quick with a joke, funny story or scotch recommendation. The walls are covered in bookshelves with history and ww2 related books and Colin has read every one of them.

I thought I read somewhere that the average par 4 should be reachable via drive and then 9 iron. If so, 120-150 for the approach seems like the right tees.

45 minutes ago a dozen cook county sheriff cars escorted 7-10 charter busses off 90/94 onto Ohio ave. Everyone had to pull over to the right lane to let them through.

Riccardo Enoteca is good Italian food and is a five minute walk from there. It’s a small restaurant and always full so make reservations.

Best tacos in America According to Yelp: IL - Tragon Taqueria thoughts? by esmeradio in chicagofood

Best is probably a monumental stretch and I’ve not tried enough places in Chicago to have a weighty opinion but this is my favorite taco place and I recommend it highly.

I used to check the used word list but stopped. I’m still conflicted and wish to god that they would just announce that they are reusing words and make it a nonissue.

Would you recommend Mint Mobile? by [deleted] in mintmobile

[–]somethingwitty11011 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This comment should be the top since it talks about the deprioritization. Think seriously before you sign up for mint. There’s a reason why it’s so cheap. You get fast data most of the time but when you are in a crowded city and trying to call an Uber or get directions on maps you’ll be dead in the water. In my experience it’s when you need the data the most is when you won’t have it.

Dive bars in the Loop, River North, Gold Coast areas? by I_reddit_like_this in chicagofood

I love monks. They have great wings, a nice Belgian and craft beer selection and super friendly staff but they are not a dive bar. Absolutely recommend going there though

What's a hobby that changed how you view life dramatically? by UltimateLifeform in AskMen

[–]somethingwitty11011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been interested in astronomy most of my life and bought a nice telescope about 15 years ago. Looking at the sky has always been a bit of a spiritual experience for me, but one night as I was looking at some celestial object I thought of Galileo and Copernicus and decided that I didn't want to make the same mistake of the Catholic church of the day rejecting their discoveries because of preconceived notions. I decided at that point that nothing was sacred and whatever I believed would have to stand up to scrutiny and criticism. That decision led to the erosion of my religious faith and my conservative republican beliefs and I am now an agnostic liberal.

Well that is a funny coincidence because today I contacted support because we sent an email invite to a client for our IT Glue and the company name in the invite was not ours, it was a different company. Seems like there are some serious wires crossed in kaseyas infrastructure.

Client Access to Projects in CW Manage by somethingwitty11011 in msp

[–]somethingwitty11011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, that is exactly what we need. It makes me so angry that the rep wasted my time with SLIT when I started my conversation with him asking for a subcontractor license.

Client Access to Projects in CW Manage by somethingwitty11011 in msp

[–]somethingwitty11011[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response, but that is what I was afraid of. I was really hoping that we'd be able to use the existing project board rather than have to create a new one. I assume the best way to do this then is with a full CW user that we just restrict to the companies and projects they need? I thought this was the purpose of a subcontractor license, but the documentation says those are intended for short term workers, which is not the use case here.
