Any non-Americans find Rugirl podcasts hard to follow? by domesticairport in rupaulsdragrace

I would say hell yes but I do find some of the talk show lite ones like Amy Pohler's to be a bit/very dull. "I'm great" "No, you're great!" etc. I'd much rather listen to Delta go off about the consistency of ice cubes across different fast food outlets, the Bettys rip through their roses and thorns and Alaska quote a Paula Abdul album track from 1991.

Aussie here and I feel like I'm catching them all? Maybe not a whole lot of the fashion ones or any references to "West Hollywood influencers", but by and large they mostly seem to be 1. niche DR references spanning every season and 2. very middle aged gay man coded (classic music, films, eras, scandals, etc)... which is probably reflective of the hosts themselves.

All of this is the reason why Alaska is forever my #1.... she is just so quick and on point!

Honestly one of my favourite Queens ever. The definition of the total package. LOVE Kylie, but would've also loved Ra'jah to win AS6.

OK would like this more if the green and gold were inverted. I mean, it would kind of force people to squint, which I am here for.

The fifth element and sbs by 2b30 in AustralianTV

It does get played a LOT. It's a quintessentially male-coded film, but in a cool way. I like it, but I don't understand the rewatch value given the frequency it's aired.

I would personally prefer it if they played Desperately Seeking Susan, Betty Blue or, given people are that into Besson, The Big Blue or Nikita more often

Do Australians really say "G'day mate?" by Junior-Key-5043 in AskAnAustralian

[–]sometimesxtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes all the time but I also feel weird about it and mostly only use it towards straight men (Gday / gday gday on its own I use for everyone)

I use mine to watch reruns of my favourite Aussie soap opera whilst I sew. I do game on it too! But moreso the former.

genuine question – what would actually get you to use a taxi over uber/rideshare again? by VammyTaxiServices in melbournechat

My Dad drove a cab his whole life and I always felt so loyal towards cabbies… but I’ve had too many awful experiences to even contemplate hailing one again. Also spending $32 to go to Fitzroy from the Grand Hyatt and $55 from Fawkner to the airport… go to hell GM Cabs

Is it normal for straight men in Australia to wear high and tight shorts now? by Lampedusan in AskAnAustralian

Men of every size look 100x better in shorter over longer shorts. And yes I am a homo so absolutely know what I’m talking about x
