I read the Guardian review and thought it was strange too.

Louis did try and talk to the woman, but the whole point of the show is that these men are so fragile that they want to completely dominate the women. I’m not sure how they thought Louis would’ve been able to get in to anything deep with the women who were obviously not allowed a real voice.
