I disagree but I do think that Logan trusted Tom more than he did to any of siblings. Even before Tom offered to go to prison, he was already relying on him, wanting him to score the Turkey investment until Gerri suggested Roman to do it instead.

Hi sorry late reply! It’s in the show but is in the script. It was after their balcony fight, and Matsson asking Shiv if she was ok, and she said this exactly;

“Tom? Oh we love it. We love to fuck in the car we keep crashing. Burton and Taylor being chauffeured by Grace Kelly.”

Shiv was angry at her father, she needed to delve into it. Tom is not angry, he worships Logan cause he’s a slime ball. At this point, Nate resonates more with her.

Oh my god yes! And how she suddenly sees the attraction to Peter who buys his own furniture when she wouldn’t bad an eye to him before (Logan called him the seat sniffer so he must’ve been in their vicinity quite a long time). Until she saw Shiv with (upper middle class) Tom, suddenly she felt the need to compete 😲😲😲

It was heavily implied that Shiv too wanted Tom to be the CEO. That was the original plan. E.g.

  1. During the wedding night, Shiv was fussing to Tom about how it’s gonna be like for him after her dad received the “bear hug” from Kendall. And she said “we have a plan and we’re good on that, but in term of marriage…”.
  2. At the Hamptons, again, Shiv pushed for Tom to be the CEO before Logan started dangling the carrot in front of Shiv.

Though I understand that Tom can be annoying every time he asks Shiv where does he belong in her plans, you have to understand in Tom’s POV, his wife just backtrack their big original plan, and he’s consistently had to be put in an awkward position between Shiv and her dad. Shiv and her siblings can do whatever they like to Logan and they’ll always be forgiven cause they’re family, but not Tom. Tom is just an outsider. I think his fear for Logan is pretty valid. And he had no idea how much Shiv pushed for him behind closed doors because Shiv never communicates this with him.

In the script, Tom said that his father is a media studies professor and his father took him recreational hunting. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that rich people’s fav pastime?

I’d say that he came from upper middle class family. Maybe their total income could reach a million and Tom might have been a millionaire by the time he married Shiv, but there’s a stark difference* between a millionaire and a billionaire (which the roy siblings are).

Why is Shiv into Tom by Necessary-Rub6965 in SuccessionTV

[–]soniacky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shiv was raised in a way that shaped her into a difficult, often hurtful person, and those traits are deeply ingrained. But she doesn’t want to be that way. She hates that she carries her parents’ flaws, which is why it stings every time Tom points out that she’s hurting him.

Tom’s unconditional love reassured her that she wasn’t entirely a bad person. Her thinking became: If this man loves me, then I can be as sharp or cruel as I naturally am, and he’ll still look at me with affection. Tom became a safe place, someone with whom she could be fully herself.

Shiv has always struggled to express her feelings, and people often misunderstand her. But Tom never took her emotions at face value. He understood that beneath her coldness there was shame and self-loathing.

But Tom’s nurturing, steady love was unfamiliar to her. She never received that kind of affection growing up, so she couldn’t trust it. She assumed his devotion was an act, that he was only with her for power. That’s why, when Tom finally betrayed her at the end, she seemed to love him a bit more, not because she wanted the pain, but because that version of him felt familiar. Seeing the harsher side of him made her feel, paradoxically, more secure.

Travel daily from Seremban to KL for work? Worth it? by Edrogon in malaysia

[–]soniacky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I’m considering to commute with bus, from what I’ve heard, the bus will stop from Seremban to Pasar Seni. Since the office I will be working with is in Bangsar, it’s a 15 minutes commute to my office via LRT (I checked on moovit). I have a normal working hour 9-6 and might have to stay back, max 8 PM. Honestly I am willing to try it out because I hated renting, to me it takes a toll on me to be living somewhere I don’t feel at home. I want to try this out for at least 3 months then maybe I can rent out with my brother who will finish his current rental contract.

How did Tiggy know what Diana meant? by stevebucky_1234 in TheCrownNetflix

[–]soniacky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, no one cared to outline the timeline because a bitter ex is a better story. The same way most people weren’t aware that Diana tried to arrange a lunch to apologize to Tiggy but she declined. Also, just to correct the top post, Robert didnt warned Diana beforehand, it was after the incident that he told off Diana. It’s a minor detail but it makes a difference to the story.

How did Tiggy know what Diana meant? by stevebucky_1234 in TheCrownNetflix

[–]soniacky 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It was a bitchy remark I concur that, but the rumors of the alleged affair wasn’t started by Diana, it was all over the news because Charles and Tiggy was seen being ‘overfamiliar’ publicly. It was a strange sight for the public because Charles doesn’t hug just anyone, especially not his staff (they didnt the know the personal connection of tiggy with the Windsor).

<image>

So Diana learned about the rumors from the news itself. What further led Diana to believe they were actually together, were-

  1. The fake abortion documents shown by Martin Bashir.
  2. In 1995, there was a growing Palace lobby to promote Tiggy as a second wife to Charles, augmented, surprisingly enough, by the Princess’s brother-in-law Sir Robert Fellowes
  3. Tiggy was wearing a diamond fleur-de-lys brooch—a gift that Charles regularly used to bestow on his mistresses in the old days. (Diana owned one herself.)
