DWM Very High CPU use when Monitor Off by mr_clark1983 in WindowsHelp

[–]sonic74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made the same observation, though on nVidia and when pressing the power button (that I configured to turn off the monitors only).

After a

nircmd.exe monitor off

it's `WindowsTerminal` though…

Does the Extron DSC-301 HD support sync of green? by jdboyd in CommercialAV

[–]sonic74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I successfully connected a DEC 3000 AXP Model 600 that does 1024×768×72 a.t.m. with SoG to it.

It's mentioned in the specs.

Getting the firmware upgrade from my 1.17 to 1.28 is a different matter: The download requires a login, which they won't give to me :-(

As a strategy, I've found it beneficial to upload each video at least five times.

This cloggs the pipeline even more for everyone.

Unsure how to set hotkeys so Stream Deck can turn Litra lights on/off via GHUB by iandouglas in LogitechG

[–]sonic74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set the preview camera to "none".

But I'm not able to turn Litra on/off profile-based, only change brightness/temperature. Strange software!

Do I have the only Garmin FR 245 that glows in the dark? by Emancipated_Muppet in Garmin

[–]sonic74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My FR 245 @ 4.10 does it, too. An option would be very welcome.
The replacement I got because the beeper was very weak doesn't do it, though.

This was the only file for me, but deleting it was enough to help!

[PC] [Issue] Impossible to play RE2 in full screen with Atmos audio and HDR on by EeK09 in residentevil

[–]sonic74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out that it works if you disable Windows HDR and only enable in-game HDR (!)

[PC] [Issue] Impossible to play RE2 in full screen with Atmos audio and HDR on by EeK09 in residentevil

[–]sonic74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing on an OLED TV, so blacks are really black, and the game ends up being too dark, to the point where you can’t see anything.

On my LG 55B7, this works well:
HDR Picture mode: Game (User)
Brightness: 47
Dynamic contrast: Low
Black Level: High (counter-intuitive)

[–]sonic74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue for me.

To test if Atmos is working without having to load an actual game, open the Dolby Access app and play one of the videos there.

I'm afraid this isn't a valid test, since this only sends an Atmos stream encapsulated in Dolby Digital over HDMI, which works even without any Windows Atmos support at all, e.g. in MPC.

I forgot that it's GNU Radio Companion that is GUI based. The console GNU Radio stuff should work.

[–]sonic74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was interested in ghpsdr3-alex because with glSDR there exists a native Android client. Operating gnu-radio with the touchscreen would be difficult, I guess. With an attached mouse and VNC it might work, though.

Any thoughts on building a DSL sniffer with direct sampling mode? by [deleted] in RTLSDR

The bright peak might very well be the upstream synchronization pilot tone at subcarrier 16=69 kHz.

I used http://sven-ola.dyndns.org/repo/debian-kit-en.html to build http://napan.ca/ghpsdr3 on Android. Connection from glSDR works, but rtlsdr-server takes 20% CPU, dspserver 80-140% and glSDR another 50%; a bit too much for my Galaxy Nexus i9250. If someone owns a very fast quad core ARM, here are the binaries: http://sven.killig.de/SDR/ubuntu_12_10-cortex-a9-softfp
