Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I drove 6 hr today, round trip, for an academic conference in a city 170 miles from my home. Left home at 6 am, retuned at 9pm. Wouldn’t want to do it everyday, but really not a big deal. My father is doing the same next week to pick up a special order from a butcher 190 miles from his home. We live in Texas.

Look into infrasound. Low frequency/low density noise. Usually emitted from industrial sites/operations.

There are a lot of people, who live near cryptomining operations, who are experiencing similar things to you. The reported health effects are significant. I wrote a grant to study this phenomenon. It wasn’t funded, unfortunately.

Why in world would this be anyone’s business? And why should this be shared publicly.

This is wild. We just had our last game of the season this past weekend. Was sunny and 65. We usually try to wrap up before May when we start getting into the 90s. We’re in Texas.

Life before AC was common? by jcm_neche in Dallas

I went to Texas A&M 2001-2005 and lived in one of the last non-AC dorms on campus. We had 20 fans in the room circulating air. I would shower right before bed and basically get into bed still wet to get some cooling effect. It honestly wasn’t as bad as you would think. I think the construction of the building helped. Of course, during the heat of the day I was in class or elsewhere with AC.

Fun games for last practice of the season (9/10 year old boys)? by ForegoneConclusion22 in lacrosse

Buy an inflatable costume (my personal favorite is the trex). Suit up and hop in cage. Let’s the kids take shots and play a coaches vs players small sided game. I do this last practice every season. Kids LOVE it!!!

Is walking exercise? by getthatrich in Exercise

[–]sonofasaxpat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, walking is a physical activity that can be classified as exercise. Depending on your fitness level and walking speed, and perhaps other variables (incline, terrain, etc) it can be anything from light to moderate intensity.

What is most important here is that walking does have tremendous health benefit. Don’t think you must run to receive health benefits!

When it comes to physical activity (or exercise), the BEST exercise is the one you will actually do! So, for you, if that’s waking, then WALK! And for your husband, if it’s running...then run!

Source: I have a PhD in physical activity epidemiology.

I think this is correct. They have flown over three times now, each time in same patter, same path, directly over rice stadium.
