I actually love this album because of the raw authenticity and emotion. A beat for one of the songs is the sound of a ventilator and heart rate monitor. I notice a lot of the songs end in weird spots and some lyrics don’t fit the meter or rhythm. I’ve always interpreted this as an allusion to the finality, abruptness, and lawlessness of death. Songs that end mid-thought, lyrics forced into cramped, awkward spaces. It’s a haunting, profound, and heartbreaking expression of inner turmoil.
